Possible reason for the Infection delay?

I don’t wanna get anyone’s hopes up but…

What if they’re delaying Infection so they can release it with bots? Imagine playing a solo game, just fighting waves of enemy infected bots.

Nope. I’ve seen the AI in campaign (closest thing to your idea) and it isn’t pretty. If Vale can’t jump up on a rock to revive me then this idea is kinda out the door. Now would it be awesome, yes.

I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if they were creating Forge assets just for Infection. Breakout has its own set of objects and building blocks, so why not stuff for Infection? It’d be a pretty good way to theme the maps, if not build entirely new ones with Infection in mind.

It’s obvious isn’t it? The only worthwhile infection maps are those in forge, and those don’t exist yet for obvious reasons. Also they might be making a new spiffy flood model for the mode.

No, it’s not there because various game types and a robust custom games toolset were not a priority for 343i. It’ll probably come, but when is anyone’s guess.

teammate AI has always been aweful, enemy AI has always been pretty darn good

All 343i needs to do is give us the ability to make our own custom Infection gamemodes, I wasn’t ever good at it but I’d play it again.
