Possible reason for no news on Halo 2 A

So they could use the Halo 4 graphics engine on Halo 2 8D,and use the Halo 4 armor because technically its the same armor.Imagine, halo 4 graphics with Halo 2.

Well, 343 has already confirmed that they aren’t working on a Halo 2 Anniversary at the moment.

They said “they have no plans to develop Halo 2 Anniversary at this time”.

There’s a really high demand for it. It was my favourite campaign, aside from Halo 3’s which was too epic for words. I can’t see there NOT being a Halo 2 Anniversary in 2014.

People say then there’ll be a Halo 3 and Reach Anniversary then after that. Umm, what need do we have for them if they’re still playable over Xbox Live on the Xbox 360 with amazing graphics?

I think only Halo 2 will be getting an anniversary remake. The others are too fresh in our memories. It would be nice to have a map pack for Halo 4 be H2 remakes though.

That’s what i meant i don’t know why i put news in the title.and yeah there’s a really high demand for it but i doubt there will be an HD reach, they should make a Halo original
trilogy HD collection with CEA H2A and H3A,with ODST as apart of the collection.

Halo 3 doesn’t need to be remade. The graphics are better than Reach’s, in my opinion.

It’ll be a launch title for the 720, and they’ll announce both at E3 2014.

H3 just had better lighting, reach had terrible lighting that made everything grey and depressing. But halo 3…with halo 4 graphics…

Hahahaha, your funny.

OT : The reason there is no H2A, is because they are NOT making H2A.

They never said they weren’t going to make it,they said the have no plans on making it at the moment because all there attention is on Halo 4 and getting it done right, they don’t have the time right now, especially so close to launch.

If enough people want it, it will happen.

If Halo2A happens, I would think there wouldn’t be another Halo remake. Halo CE and 2 are not HD, so they can have an Anniversary. Halo 3, ODST, and Reach are already HD so I doubt they’ll get remade.

Reach had brilliant lighting and great graphics, but a slightly different aesthetic than past Halo games.

On topic: If a Halo 2 Anniversary were to happen, the earliest would be 2021, the 20th anniversary of Halo. Halo CEA was only made because of the 10th anniversary of Halo as a franchise. Had 343 missed this historic milestone, CEA would never have happened.

By then, we’ll have Super-HD! :stuck_out_tongue:

And actually, Halo 3 isn’t HD.

Are you serious?! I have a 1080p TV and the graphics look amazing. How can you say it’s not HD?

> Are you serious?! I have a 1080p TV and the graphics look amazing. How can you say it’s not HD?

Because Halo 3 renders in 1152x640 (640p, basically). I can see the jaggies very clearly even when the output is scaled to 480i over composite, let alone when playing on a 1080p display!

The case the game comes in says “1080p,” as do 360 games in general, but this is marketing nonsense. They justify that label based on the fact that the 360 can scale video at the output. In other words, they can say the game is “1080p” because the game can output on a 1080p video signal. But it doesn’t look anything like a native 1080p game.

//=======================================

Note that, strictly speaking, none of the console Halo titles released yet can render in an HD standard. Reach and CEA each render with 720 vertical pixels, but only 1152 horizontal ones, as opposed to the 1280 that would fit standard 16:9 720p. Halo 4 is said to render 1280x720, and will therefore be the first “proper” HD Halo console release.
Also, Halo is hardly the only series in this sub-HD boat. Call of Duty, for instance, actually has it even worse due to their 60fps target.

For “full HD” (1080p) releases, we’re likely to have to wait till next gen. Though even then, it’s entirely possible that many devs are going to aim too high on effects to squeeze 1080p out, especially if they also gun for 60fps.

Yes, and this it what attributes, along with other things, to reach’s grainy quality instead of a clearer picture. They dont give you all the damn pixels.

I think as far as running the game on the Halo 4 engine, YES. Maybe we could even have a surprise with it, and 343 would allow us to download the remade maps from halo 2 A into halo 4

> Yes, and this it what attributes, along with other things, to reach’s grainy quality instead of a clearer picture. They dont give you all the damn pixels.

That’s not a very complete picture in most cases. A lot of Reach’s graininess (and ODST’s) comes from grain filters. Reach’s TAA system also causes a lot of whackiness, like the terrible ghosting that can be seen all over the place.

There definitely is an obvious drop in image quality due to the low resolution, but upgrading just to 720p wouldn’t magically fix things to a very impressive extent. 1152x720 and 1280x720 aren’t all THAT different from one another when you’re scaling them onto a 1920x1080 display; unless you have a 720p display or lower, both resolutions translate to a metric froodlenutzskyton of upscaling.
