Possible new Mythic Reqs! Carbine:Storm Rifle:BPR

First thing I did when the update came out was jump into forge and play with the new weapon pad and some of the possible combinations. While going through the SPNKR Prime (which I recommend) I went over the Carbine and found this: 1 and 2.

They were noticeably redder and without the yellow strip from the Blood of Suban. I figured it was a glitch and kept going and when the energy sword was highlighted it didn’t change to the Prophets Bane, so glitch confirmed right?

After highlighting all the other Mythic weapons they each turned to their respective skins, until I hit the Storm Rifle, which also had the same red skin, and looking at it closer now I realized that this could be a possible Brute based weapon, considering the Plasma Rifle counterpart.

But that’s not all, upon highlighting the Brute plasma rifle I got this. To me it looks like a very damage Plasma Rifle, possible owned by an elite from pre great schism. This matches the theme, three standard covenant weapons that got swapped over to opposing sides. Carbine and Storm Rifle, normally Elite weapons, now in the hands of Brutes. Then the Brute Plasma Rifle, now turned Elite Plasma Rifle, which is something fans have also been asking for.

What do you guys think? The two possible Brute weapons may not be mythics, but the Elite PR has to be a new mythic, it has the uniqueness to it that some Mythics have.

Hmm… I was hoping to get the original Plasma rifles from Halo CE… Bot sure if it’s a glitch with the texturing or not, but nice find.

That is an awesome plasma rifle skin.

In case you didn’t know, 1 and 2 are the same picture. You might have made a mistake.

Fixed, thanks for letting me know

I love the Plasma rifle skin, the old rugged, broken look. Gives it a really nice contrast to the clean, red Brute Plasma.

Tons of different weapons can get different skins from modding

Except, as far as I know, no one has managed to mod Halo 5, and the trick is perfectly duplicatable. Drop a weapon pad, switch to a Nornfang, and go to any of these three weapons.

I’m on about the mod glitch

i don’t think they have to design the weapon skins individually it’s just that they have a template of the skin as a image and put it on the gun model. The placement of the same skin could vary to have a slightly different pattern. Or at least that’s what I think from experience of applying a texture to a 3D model. I’m not sure if I’m using the wrong wordage.

but I don’t know any thing about game design just experience with 3D Studio max

I would have to agree. It’s possible that performing this glitch applies more properties than apparent. It could be the wrong shader is applied and boom you have a totally different looking carbine or plasma rifle. I doubt it is a sign of things to come.

Either they are new skins or they were reqs that were never fully developed or scratched and it’s data remains. Much like many other halo games.

Excellent find OP, I’ll look into forge and get back to you on this.

Since you used a mythic the game is trying to add a 4th tier variant because the spnkr prime is mythic. Since there is not 4th tier carbin or storm rifle this will happen.

Possibly Banished Req weapons in the future?

I would agree to this, but it happens with four different weapons, the red textures are a different shade verses the others, and no other weapon has glitched out to show a different skin save the energy sword which didn’t switch to the Prophets bane when mixed with a mythic. Also despite being very similar the two colors have a different shade of red, plus the Brute Plasma out right turning blue and gaining a damaged texture, which is pretty obviously intentional, and the Beam Rifle gaining new colors, which it doesn’t even have a texture for on any of the other beam rifles.

It could very well be a glitch, but based on precedence and the Brute Plasma Rifle skin, which is definitely a custom skin and I do recommend looking at it in person to see the better details, I do doubt that this is simply just another glitch or that this could be an issue with skin placement, not with four different weapons having a similar instance occurring.

This could be a more possible scenario, I really only believe the Plasma Rifle is a mythic at this point due to it’s incredibly unique style.
