Ok so in one of the new terminal videos the Moniter gives multiple warnings to the Pillar of Autumn to retreat away from installation 04, after realising Chief is on the Pillar of Autumn he then allows for them to land on the ring, But im playing the Library level on CE right now and he says"The flood releasing was due to the other species on the ring"(Covenant) So im curious as why is the covenant on the ring?Wouldnt the defense systems in place destroy them before they could land on Halo???Im open for all answers

They managed to get in when the defenses were lowered. The reason they weren’t destroyed when they arrived before the Autumn is because they were hiding. Cortana states this… “They were waiting for us on the far side of the planet.”

Well since the Covenant were studying humanity, maybe they fooled Spark by showing him their history. On the other hand, that wouldn’t make sense since Spark seemed surprised in the terminal and said that they’ve been away far too long.

I doubt he actually turned it off, it would be a major security breach. I’m sure Forerunner tech can tell friends and foes apart, our tech can.
Did it have anything to do with the fact that teh Covenant called 343 “The Oracle”??

Considering Covenant Tech is based on Forerunner tech, the Covenant could have thrown off various systems or been able to completely hide from GS.
