I might be looking too much into it, but in The Hunt Begins trailer at 27 seconds, Locke puts his head together with Tanaka. He doesn’t do this with the other members of Osiris. Now this might be a headbutt act soldiers do before heading into battle. They could have a close friendship after connecting from both of them coming from glassed planets (Jericho VII and Minab). I doubt that they’ll show it, but do you think it’s possible there’s a Locke x Tanaka thing going on?
I hope for anything that brings more humanity to the characters.

And Maria is a Spartan II that’s married with kids, and DeMarco and Madsen are Spartan IV’s confirmed to be chasing girls. Saying soldiers don’t have time or interest as a a whole to pursue romance is silly. That said, I find it doubtful that there’s romantic relationship, as there’s regulations against fraternization with officers (Commander Locke) and a soldier (Tanaka)… though the Spartan Branches might be different.
I just never seen Halo as dating Sim if people want that Bioware has games for you.
