Possible inspiration for the Didact's helmet?

Anybody see a bit of a passing resemblence between the Didact’s helmet and Robotech’s Dana Sterling’s helmet? I just don’t know, I see some similarities. Frankly, quite a bit of Halo 4 takes pages from Robotech when you think about it.

But what do I know, I think Spartan Thorne and Drake look the same too, lol. Let me know what you guys think.

I think Didact’s helmet is supposed to resemble an elongated skull, more than a helmet really. When you see that helmet and armor, you really don’t have to put much thought into whether or not he’s a “bad” guy.

Indeed, although his original helmet also looked somewhat skull-like.
