Hello y’all,
I am wondering if anyone here can tell me why being DC is becoming common? I checked my Nat and ping, but both are green and open yet I every other game or so I am having a hard time staying connected with the Halo 5 Guardians servers. I even have a gig for upload/download…
Is your Xbox hard-wired to your network or do you use Wi-Fi?
It may have to do with your ISP and the Servers connecting. I have Comcast and have only been disconnected a handful of times. I experience a decent amount of lag now that Region Lock has been removed but I blame the poor matchmaking for that.
Anyway, I’m not sure there is a solution for you. Others have the issue but the common thought is that 343i needs to fix their servers. The one possibility on your end could be packet loss. You could try PingTest.net and run a few tests. There’s other ways to do it but I’m not sure how tech savvy you are.
I want to blame the service (Xfinity) yet I have no packet losses either… maybe just the H5G servers themselves. Also I miss that Region Lock sometimes
Edit: Also wifi, but I have always been wireless and never had probs. O_o

Are you using WiFi through one of those Xfinity Gateways? In other words, a modem/router all in one unit that they provided? I was given one because of our Triple Play Package but I don’t use it nor the home phone. The WiFi reliability on those are terrible and could be the reason you’re having issues. I use my own modem/router (hard wired) and have no issues with Xfinity.

In my experience, Wi-Fi is sketchy for online gaming, so try a hard-wired connection as part of your troubleshooting.
