No covenant will be in Halo 4’s campaign, because it wont make any sense.

Exactly, I would be extremely pissed if I saw any covenant at all in Halo 4. Unless its an easter egg of course. As of now I can’t possibly imagine a way where they can make it so you still fight covenant, I doubt anyone can. Although, the fact that they came up with a story for not just one, but 3 more games at least is remarkable. The only thing I can possibly think of for a story is master chief trying to stop the evil Forrunner AI from activating the Halo’s or something worse to eradicate all sentient life. I cant remember the AI’s name. It was hidden in the terminals in Halo 3 on the side scripts in the red. I think it started with an “M”.
You are speaking of Mendicant Bias. He was turned good, and kept the chief alive on Halo, and sent him to this shield world in the Halo 4 teaser. If you read the terminals in Halo 3, it says he wants to use Chief to show the forerunners he betrayed, that he has changed I think, something like that.
Of course there’s not going to be grunts in Halo 4, the Covenant are gone. Although seeing a Brute, Grunt, Elite, Jackal, or Skirmisher in an easteregg would be awesome.

Exactly what I had in mind. Maybe one of them will toughen up the Hunters, hide the sword glow of sword stealth Elites on the original graphics, make marines more elite and bad–Yoink-, make the Wraith drivable, fix or tweak the physics so that players can’t be killed by their own vehicle unless it’s at high speed, and make Zealots grow to giant proportions (jk).
As for the Grunts, I want them to appear as an easter egg, like the thirsty Grunt, but in unison. Imagine a group of Grunts saying the same thing to Master Chief at the same time.
Grunt Funeral Skull is the Key. It unlocks their death and sends them on a wonderful blue yet Great Journey.

True, but it could just be a name. I find what I posted in the OP a much better hint. it would make sense if grunts don’t return but they were always fun to kill, and it got even better with the GBDP skull.
anyways, I’m excited for the Grunt Funeral skull, it will be alot of fun to play like that (:
