Hey guys I heard something recently that peaked my curiosity. While watch the last terminal for Halo CEA, I noticed something Guilty Spark said toward the end.
Before you continue please note that my statement here is this: "I believe the Didact and the Prometheans will be the enemies in Halo 4."
> But what I would not give to have even a single company of Prometheans here right now. They would most certainly restore order with their trademark lethality, although… That would mean HE would have to be here, too. And without the Librarian around to temper his rage…well… These Reclaimers might almost prefer the Flood.
This made me ask a few questions. Who are the Prometheans, and who is “He?” (Which I highlighted above along with some context that I find important to my theory).
I looked up the answers to these questions on Halopedia and here is what I found.
> Prometheans
> The Prometheans were the highest and most respected group of Warrior-Servants in the Forerunner Ecumene. The Didact and Confirmer were Prometheans. Physically, Prometheans were the highest form a Warrior-Servant could mutate to, standing around four meters tall and between 800 and 1,000 kilograms in weight. They were heavily muscled, their hands capable of easily crushing a human skull.
When I saw Didact and Confirmer I looked them up on the hunch that one of these might be the “He” that Spark refers to. After reading the articles I ruled out the Confirmer and continued to look into the Didact.
> Didact
> The Didact was an individual who held an extremely high status in the Forerunner society as supreme commander of the entire Forerunner military. He evidently wholeheartedly believed in the “Mantle” the Forerunners held to protect life. He was also the lover of the Librarian, and the one who eventually activated the Halo Array.
> The Didact passes on his memories to Bornstellar and is later killed by the Master Builder on the San’Shyuum home world. Because of the transfer of memories Bornstellar becomes the Didact. This revelation is made to him by the Librarian when he meets her on the Ark. From this Point the Didact begins to lead the Forerunner’s fleet against the flood.
Now then, the first Didact that is mentioned above died. However, this next piece of information is very key to my theory and very convincing for me.
> The Didact’s eventual fate is unclear, whether or not he survived the activation or perished, as his location is not specified, be it on the Ark, or one of the Halo Rings.
> While the Server’s first episode seems to state that the Didact perished, Terminal 7 seems to contradict this, as the Didact describes going on the Forerunner’s “Great Journey” without the Librarian, carrying the “bitter record” of the Forerunner’s failure. Whether this describes an actual physical event and his survival, or a more ideological/religious concept involving the Forerunner’s concept of death and the afterlife that he is describing, is unclear.
With all this evidence AND the fact that we were told that the terminals tie in with Halo 4, I strongly believe our enemy could be the Didact and his army. We were also told that this new threat was worse than any other the UNSC has faced before. This is relevant to the fact that Spark says, “These Reclaimers might almost prefer the Flood,” after referencing the Prometheans and the Didact.
What are your thoughts?
