if there was a chance there was still a precursor still alive, like said in the lore that some went into stasis sleep,if and precursur and flood form came into contact with one another what would happen?

I don’t think it would infect the Precursor, but rather obey it. I don’t know, just my guess.
Or maybe the Precursor would somehow be able to remove it’s corruption and turn it back into a Precursor.

It’s unclear whether Gravemind wants to return to what it was before. It didn’t seem to try during its war against the Forerunners.

Oooohhh. Maybe.
I think the Precursor would just be like “O hai cousin. How goes the eternal vengeance?”

This made me LOL.
I think it’s cool to kind of leave the Precursors shrouded in a little bit of mystery the way the Forerunners USED to be. The OP’s question is a good one, and I’m not sure I actually want to know the answer. It’s almost more fun that way.
Well the Flood are Precursors, but whether or not they can infect other variations of Precursor is somewhat unknown. We do know the Flood had mutated “beyond” the Primordial, which was another form of Precursor, and he had control of the Flood forces on Installation 07. Then again the Primordial was a Gravemind, so even if the Flood had mutated beyond what they originally were, he was still similar enough that he could control them until a successor was formed.
Maybe Precursors of a different form? That’s if they can’t control them.
When they are made of the same elements as humans, forerunners etc., sure. Expecially if it would just be a spore or something.

I don’t really have problems with learning details about this sort of thing unless it undermines what made them cool. I really liked the way 343 expanded on the Forerunners; it gave us a really interesting culture without making them seem too tangible or un-powerful. On the other side, Bioware’s “explanation” of the Reapers’ origins made the space squids look like idiots and undermined the horror they were supposed to represent. So, if 343 can expand on the Precursors without removing their terrifying ‘awful truth’ Lovecraftian nature, I’m all for it. Otherwise, not so much.
Precursors gave life to Humans and Forerunners…they should be too strong to be corrupted by the Flood
I find this to be a real interesting topic, isn’t it just like a human zombie infection a human?

Real liking that idea man, like it would help it. I’m sure there is one precursur left in stasis
I think it would be possible. They are derived from Precursors, but that might make them even more susceptible to infection. Who knows?
I believe the flood is the precursors because I forget where stated I believe in H4 that they said the flood stopped attacking the humans and the foreunners believed humans had a cure. There was no cure the only reason the flood stopped attacking humans is because they were precursors and were only testing humans to see if they are still the right choice for the mantle of responsibility. The flood was only formed because they wanted to get revenge on the foreunners for killing them.

I’m saying flood can’t infect precursors because they are precursors. The precursors are like gods I don’t know another way to describe it but they can change shape or what ever. They were mad their creation killed them so they came back in a different form. The flood doesn’t infect the precursors they are precursors. Humans during the human forerunner war found out when they had the last precursor alive told them he was a grave mind.

The last precursor was known as The Primordial he was speaking to Ur-Didect not the humans my bad. It’s on the halo wiki and I say it’s accurate because it’s even in the books if you got time to read them. Here I’ll link the halo wiki The Primordial | Halo Alpha | Fandom

That’s the question right there man
