Now that really look at the two pictures closely, the first one is of human origin and the second is of unknown origin. They do have some physical similarities but the unknown ship may have come from a race that has not been introduced yet, in or outside of the galaxy. The design is of nothing we have ever seen before.

how do we know its just not humans with the creatures?

the whole 2 space thing was a glitch and the rest if you understand it then don’t bother to change it
Maybe, but whatever that ship is in the terminal is mysterious, and the UNSC seem to be paying no attention to it in the concept art.
