Possible Champion's Tournament Cheaters

so i played a couple of games in the champion’s playlist to give the tournament a go but shortly decided to stop playing because of how much BS happened just in one game. It’s not that i was playing bad or anything like that, nor do i think i should have clearly beaten everyone i played against. I just feel cheated by how this game played out.

If you look at my fileshare, under videos, my first 4 (from top to bottom) are all from the same game i played on abandon. The entire game i did not experience any type of lag or anything like that. However, once i reached 18 kills and the leader had 20 the game, out of no where, started acting wierd. I was able to move and aim correctly, but whenever i fired my bullets none of my shots registered.

In the video “How” i clearly shoot the enemy player twice with my battle rifle and then punch him as he tries to melee me, but he somehow lives. Now to my knowledge, 343 has stated it will only take 2 shots and a beat down to obtain a kill with a battle rifle.

In the video “Just Can’t Win” you can clearly see me shoot the enemy player almost 9-10 times without any type of damage occurring, only for him to turn around and shoot me 4 times and i die. The thing is, shortly after i am killed, another player comes running up and is able to take down the person i was fighting in only about 3-5 seconds.

In the video “Champion Cheaters” you will see me shoot a player, who clearly has no shields, multiple times. He does not die. Instead he regains his shields, only for another player to come running in and was able to kill him, then i melee that person 3 times only for him to die because he stuck me and it ended up blowing up near him.

Some of you may reply with saying that it was my connection, but i can assure you it wasn’t. No one was “skipping” around nor did anyone quit. I even checked my network connection when it happened and the bar was green next to my name. Can anyone explain how this happened?

Perhaps lag on their servers. I’ve had this issue a few times… Seeing as they all died from OTHER people, but were aware of you, you may have been resorted to some sort of “Shadow”, which is, from what I understand, a form of “Ghost of Halo”, where a player lags out, is still visible, but not on the leaderboard of the other players, and usually stating green-across-the-board network status.

It seems to be more of a Semi-Ghost thing. Either that, or those were hackers, somehow able to kill only eachother, with only you unable to do anything. I’ve had similar things happen, but non just hacks, also glitches of the game itself or a online glitch.

it just really sucks because those kills could have potentially won me the game. That’s why i feel online tournaments are very hard to determine true winners.

Thanks for opening this much-needed discussion.

I have top-of-the-line internet service: repeated speed tests confirm that it never (normally) drops below 50 Mbs. Usually it is well above that figure.

Last night (July 19; around 9 pm PDT) a friend (GOW Headshot) was logged into my service and won first place four times in the Tournament. Then he encountered a match where the connection was erratic, and apparently deliberately erratic: my friend found that even seven or eight shots did not register. He checked the connection within the game and it showed as yellow; then for a few seconds it would show as green – he’d get shot and die - and the connection would go back to yellow.

The winner was [CLASSIFIED]; my friend ended up in sixth place. There was a gap of over 120 points between the winner the next best. My friend sent a message to GM saying “cheater”. GM replied: “I was not the host.”

I am mystified as to how a Tournament, as important as this one, can be based on honest results, if it relies upon players acting as servers rather than having dedicated servers to maintain quality connections and prevent cheating.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me about the technical processes involved in this Tournament. As the night wore on, and the number of North American participants dwindled, the problems with connections increased. GOW Headshot worked hard to play well — but in the end his efforts were compromised by what appeared to be deliberate cheating.

Now it remains a question as to whether to continue…

Although not directly related to the subject of cheating –

can anyone explain how the leader boards work: is the weekly score based on the top 20 matches that one has played, or does playing beyond 20 matches not affect the averaged rating?

If you want to get top 4 in the tournament, buy a new xbox. Then you pull host everytime  . But I don´t think that anyone was cheating in your games. It was just laggy, it´s Halo 4 , luckily Halo 5 will have dedicated servers. It would be also good if you would have sent the gamertag of the guy that won, so we can check if he is undefeated right now. If he isn´t why should he be cheating, if he has no chance of winning anymore?

No there are cheating going on. U can say there other reason there are more dealing with people who cheat in it.i am one the people who deal with the cheating every time I play I don’t have bad net. It not skills or k/d and the one are cheating not call skills or any bs it cheating it not right for people who don’t cheat. If u stick up cheater u just dumb . Top 343 is just much as dumb for not doing any thing about it.

What’s really messed up is that the guy who came in first has several dnfs, or ‘did not finish’ and the tournament rules state that you will get a zero if you lose connection. Obviously there is a whole lot of cheating going on, because no one can come in first over a hundred games in a row, and I mean no one! I don’t care how pro you are, it’s just statistically impossible to do. There needs to be a rule in which you have to upload at least 20 of your perfect games to file share so they can be reviewed for any discrepancies.

This same thing happens to me all the time. We were skrimming today with some buddies on the v4 settings, ctf on simplex. I shoot a guy which would’ve only taken 2 shots to kill him, shoot my whole entire mag into his body (aimed for the head first but then realized shots weren’t registering so i immediately went for body shots) and he turns around and 4 shots me. If any of these games were LAN the players would’ve been dead. I never do online tournaments, only lan

Right on, bro.

Totally understood what you just said.

In all honesty, it’s probably just poor connection, and yes, it sucks that lag is going to play a big part in who wins the Global Championship.

im finding that a lot of headshots are not registering in the swat gc or when oi kill them it delayed a half a second not complaining just the most frusterating / inconsistant playliss lol me and my buddy were screaming at the game lastnight lol… Just another maybe because me and my friend are playing over my house with 2 tvs 2 xboxs on my internet connection could that possibly cause it to lag more

Alot if things you guys are saying Has happened to me multiple times. When I played yesterday I shot someone five times with the BR in SWAT GC and yet I did not kill him but I was killed in one shot. This doesn’t happen in every game but it does happen often enough to notice it

It sounds like you’re having some issues with server lag. While I don’t deny that there are people cheating, I think most of the time they are pretty easy to spot.

I played one match last night where the screen blacked halfway through and when I came out there was one player running around snipping and nearly everyone else dropped dead at the same time.

Funny you should mention [CLASSIFIED], I’ve played him a couple times, and had lag issues with him as well. On Haven when he got to 20 the lag was really bad. Maybe he is abusing host

The H4 Global Champioships is annoying me for one fact, people are moding there internet connection and winning the games… for example this player >>> “[CLASSIFIED]”(also check his current rank in H4GC, so laughable) … look at all of his statistic’s and tell me that isn’t a modded account??? Now i have 124MB download speed and 12MB upload speed, with open NAT and FIREWALL disabled on my modem, yet i still get players who, either shoot me before i see them, or i shoot and the bullets just seem to turn to jelly… also there’s the “invisible” killing other player manage to do, for example i die then almost instantly the person will materialize in front of me :L (sorry about the grammar)… and its such an easy fix, simple require players to have a compulsary internet connection, not advised, COMPULSARY… IF they fail the connection speed test, they shouldn’t be aloud to play, simple as that. I’ve been a Halo fan since day one, i even have H4 LTD ED console kit, but this game is by far the worse for in game lagg. When $200,000 is to play for, i can’t help feel that most geuine gamer’s chance’s of even coming close to qualifying for the final’s, have been robbed… BTW i closed my NAT and put my firewall to the “low” setting, and coincidently became alot harder for other online gamers to kill (but ive changed back to open NAT and firewall, beause i aint a cheating B***h) so i also think having an open NAT should also be compulsary. As for the championship, i think it should be postponed untill these issue’s are resolved, because its not just unfair to me, its also unfair to everybody else who plays this game, and are being robbed of there loyalty to the game and the chance of possibly being rewarded for there hours of dedication. I think a pertition should be made, just to prove, i am not the only person that its annoying.

let’s blame cheating shall we ?

I have not encounterd that much lag.

Lag from playing with 7 other people from around the world thousands of miles away ≠ cheating.
