Now these rumors aren’t very wide spread yet but I’ve been hearing stories from very popular people in the community that they very well maybe be boycotting Halo 5 until its made correctly and built to last, not bomb like Halo 4 possibly even some pros attempting to have them almost remake Halo 3.
So my question is would anyone here on the forums support a boycott of Halo 5 until its basically Halo 3 again?
That’s still too far away to even consider. 343 still has time to fix and improve Halo 4. This isn’t the time to even be talking about a boycott of a game years away.
Its way to early to consider. Give the game a year or two, see how it is then with all the changes and updates, then see how people feel about boycotting Halo 4.
Haven’t see alot or any boycotts for video games though, although if your a mass effect fan, you may be less inclined to get the next game thats coming out, same for gears of war if you know the upcoming changes.
Now right now 343 probably think they are on a high, the sales of halo 4 have been strong.
However look at some things for a second.
The online population has already shrunken significantly since launch, due to the lack of any competitive playlists or due to the new game changes.
The majority of these people are halo fans who have played either halo 2 or 3 online.
Now If we consider how 343 are trying to accommodate these “casual” gamers who don’t care for halo really much and see it more as an alternative to call of duty, then we have a problem.
Halo 4 sold so strong because of reaches failure and the fact 343 now owns the franchise, the old school halo fans believed 343 would right the wrongs of reach.
Evidently that is false, as many have left the game already.
Halo 5 will not sell as well as 4 for these reasons. 343 have alienated their fan base and seem to be forcing this new play-style on us. Hence why a boycott wont be necessary…
Well, It won’t be a “boycott” on my part. I vote with my wallet. MS and 343i had one chance to impress me and prove that Halo was in capable hands. They did not. So I will not be buying Halo 5 or 6. Unless something radically changes that is.

There is no level of improving that can be done to Halo 4 to make the population grow to what it had been prier to Reach, and right now if 343 stays on track late 2014 is a very plausible release date at this point for another failing game with a different name.

You’re making an assumption. You’re assuming that the players who stopped playing have stopped playing for your reasons. You’re also assuming that the player drop isn’t a natural cycle and is instead abnormal.
> The majority of these people are halo fans who have played either halo 2 or 3 online.
And this is just the start of even more assumptions.
> Why would i want Halo 3 again? If i wanted Halo 3 i’d go play it.
Why would we want halo 4 if I did I would of played CoD?
Do you relize how Derpy you sound. He is talking about the core of the game and I don’t blame him for wanting back Halo. If you want to play a multiplayer that is meaningless and rank is just a how long you played the game that your problem.

I am basing this off of the comments I have read and the people I have spoken to. The majority of people I speak too say they stopped playing halo 4 because of those reasons. By the looks of things alot of people on this forum have done the same. I could try grabbing statistics of player count from the first week after launch and now but thats just too much effort and not worth the time.

You must not have played halo 3 if you are really trying to say that the drop in population is a normal thing Halo 3 had over 1 million players on it at any given time even 3 years after launch and Halo 4 has 7 million copies sold but never has more them 200k players on at PEEK times.

Subjective opinion =/= objective fact
The narrow, restricted viewpoint of talking with just your friends is a subjective opinion.

I never said my comment was factually accurate, and anyone who would take anything said on this forum as fact would be stupid.
I explained what I had personally found. And considering I share the same opinion as quite a large percentage of this forum (albeit the minority probably) I don’t see how my statement was that farcical
