With the conclusion given my forbeck in bad blood, one must has to anticipate another book coming., no? I mean buck did mention on the second last page that they are far away with no one coming for their aid. So this seems like another fun off the radar operation.
Another theory… buck is speaking mostly in 3rd person. Given that a new alpha nine novel come out lets say it can only take place continuing on which leaves me to question, perhaps this new mission he is quoting on his taking place during around halo infinite. Which also means new enemies-Brutes. I see this new novel, if it ever comes our way, is a special operations mission towards the brutes. Also synthetic enemies such as forerunner soldiers are a huge turn off. Its kinda stereo typical for the sci fi genre lol. Stick with flesh and blood, dont let me down infinite.
Its probably just a story thread left hanging in case 343 wants to add another book to the list.
Remember, it took us ages to get a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx.

man i never heard that “spartan” saying but all i know is i hope its made up what you quoted lol… that saying sounds so cheesy and corny… not really a spartan touch now is it lol.
I certainly hope there’s another one. Then again, I would really prefer a game. I’ve said it on here at least a dozen times: I want another ODST game that follows Alpha-9. Given the end of Bad Blood, the stage is set for a spiritual successor to ODST that follows Alpha-9 during the Created Conflict. They wouldn’t be ODSTs of course, which is why I call it a spiritual successor rather than a strict sequel.
A third book is pretty possible, but 343i could be setting things up for bringing Buck’s team back in the games, which isn’t something I mind if I’m being honest

Its not. Its from Halo: The Cole Protocol.
The protagonist of the book speaks it to Spartan Grey Team when he first meets them.
They are definitely going to make a third, it leaves off with a cliffhanger.
I would love to see more Edward Buck stories in the Halo Franchise. I think a Halo spin off video game where Edward Buck and Alpha-Nine are the main characters will be a great idea.

That would be great, however now that they are all spartans I don’t think it would “feel” tremendously different from a mainline game.
And I understand the gameplay itself of ODST isn’t terribly different from Halo 3, but I enjoyed the vulnerability that they displayed just throughout the story, cutscenes, etc.
Or another Alpha 9 book, I would totally be on board!
I’ll admit, I wasn’t happy with New Blood too much but Bad Blood was actually a good form of redemption in the writing. I wouldn’t mind a third book focusing on Alpha Nine.

As others have said, an Alpha-9 game would be cool, and I think could be better than having a third book (which is possibly why there hasn’t been a third book yet), but I really hope 343 doesn’t throw the ODST name onto the game as it really isn’t an ODST game if it’s set after Bad Blood. A name I like is Halo: An Alpha-9 story. It could be an add on to Halo Infinite as 343 have said they have a 10 year plan for the game, but that’s just one way on how they can tie up the loose thread of Alpha-9.
