I understand since Anniversary just came out, 343i wants to make sure people play on the maps they paid for. But there are two other DLC packs that we hardly get to play.
Premium Battle was removed because I assume of low population.
What are the reasons the population was low? We don’t know.
But I think an reasonable thing to ask for is to bring back the DLC category in January.
Have two playlists in that category that requires ALL DLC:
Premium Battle (4vs4 or 5v5)
Maps:
Anchor 9
Tempest (?)
Condemned
Battle Canyon
Beaver Creek
Damnation
Penance
Prisoner
Solitary
Gametypes:
Include different gametypes ranging from Vanilla Reach to Title Update to Anniversary Classic. With obviously Anniversary being played on original maps. Have high weighting on Slayer and Flag.
Premium BTB (8vs8)
Maps:
Breakneck
Headlong
Breakpoint
Highlands
High Noon
Hang em High
Ridgeline
Timberland
Tempest
Gametypes:
Include different gametypes ranging from Vanilla Reach to Title Update to Anniversary Classic. With obviously Anniversary being played on original maps. Have high weightng on Slayer and Flag.
Remove Anniversary Playlists and maybe make Rumble Pit and Living Dead DLC required.
I agree with you. I will not be buying the Noble or Defiant Map Pack until they go on sale or this playlist is brought back. Otherwise I’m not getting my moneys worth because I can’t play the maps…
The best solution would be to make the defiant and noble packs free… remember when the halo 2 maps used to go free after a while?! It was awesome… and kept people playing. Unfortunately for us -Yoink!- won’t be allowing that any time soon. But that would be the best solution in my opinion. I’ve gotten my fair share of fun from them and would rather they be free to everyone now then not be able to play them at all in MM.

Yeah it would be nice if they went free. But the problem with that is if people know map packs will become free than alot less people will buy map packs and wait for them to become free.
Thus MS loses money and decides not to release any more map packs cause its not worth the money or resources.
The problem is, they can’t get rid of the Anniversary playlists and merge them into an all DLC playlist because of the people playing from the Anniversary disc who only have those maps. Wouldn’t have been a problem if they were smart and just bundled Noble and Defiant with Anniversary like ODST’s multiplayer.

They said there wouldn’t be enough room to add the DLC on a Reach Multiplayer disk. They would have to do a 3 disk game which would be inconvenient as well as give us a jacked up price.
An interesting solution but you simply cannot remove the Anniversary playlists. For those who own Halo: CEA but NOT Halo: Reach, the Anniversary playlists are the only playlists available for those players.
However, a DLC category should still exist, especially if no other playlists are to become DLC required. Any DLC playlist should contain either Vanilla Reach gametypes or TU Reach gametypes, not both, and definitely not Anniversary gametypes.
