One thing that I feel Bungie did great in its forums is that it allowed for the creation of private groups. This allowed for clans and groups to grow greatly.
I myself am one of the few last members of the once popular group Mjolnir Battle Tactics, which had nearly 5000 members in its prime (a few hundred that were decently active). This number has been reduced to around 10-20 active members. We really want to make a move to a new forum where there are tons of Halo4 players that would love to join groups of like-minded players who they can do game-nights with and have tournaments and forge competitions with.
And so I suggest a Private Group Forum. That way the “Clans” that we have currently could form a home-base of sorts and become more than a group of fighters, but a group of friends (who fight other groups of friends).
So if you (343/Waypoint) want your forums and community to actually grow, I recommend private groups.
