Positivity thread. What do you like about Halo Infinite?

I like that it’s free so I don’t have the sunk-cost fallacy acting up and forcing me to play this crap. Reminds me of the demos of the olden days.

I enjoy the addition of bots as well as the ability to identify and ping enemies and weapons/items for my teammates.

I like the in depth customization, the ease of access for all the content, the PVE modes…

Wait these are my notes for MCC and Halo 5. You know. Good games.

maybe, cause if they put it in the playlist, definitely they´ll put some challenges for battle royale

the campaign mode is for me so far the only thing what there have done good to make it open world and not the same like the older halo’s.

since its so fun to toy and do funny things and see some wierd things in the campaign mode you normal never can do.

I like the gameplay. It feels like a solid foundation to build off.

I liked the story, even if I didn’t love it. Felt more like resetting everything to the halo status quo after Guardians more than anything. At the very least, it made me interested in where they take it next through expansions.

I think they did a great job with the art style and music. It did all feel very ‘Halo’ to me, even if the setting did get a little repetitive.

Grunt propaganda towers were amazing.

The upgrade system with armor cores and different abilities felt natural in the game despite it being an entirely new mechanic.

I very much enjoyed the campaign, especially the audio logs. I’m excited to see how Halo: The Rubicon Protocol book ties into the audio log entries from the game.

I enjoyed the reset to a more classic art style and can’t wait to see where the art direction goes as the game gains next-gen rendering features.

The sandbox for this game is VERY fun, especially in campaign with the Marines. I love dragging the Marines around to assault various things.

I have so much to say…

  • Master Chief looks and acts like himself again
  • The Pilot is a nice character
  • This may be controversial, but I’m glad the blue hologram lady accompanying the Chief this time around has clothes
  • Art style is way less noisy and vastly superior to Halo 4 and 5
  • Best red Energy Sword yet
  • Cool Forerunner weapon designs, though I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the 4/5 ones (I’d like to see them return in Forge)
  • Most handsome Forerunner monitors yet
  • Green Forerunner monitor (epic)
  • Music sounds like Halo again
  • Weapon emblems and charms are a nice idea
  • MJLONIR MK 7 looks really good
  • Yoroi Armor Core looks great with the Kabuto helmet (like a real samurai but Halo)
  • Easter eggs
  • The return of Spike Grenades (I have missed them since Halo 3)!
  • Sometimes there’s a glitch when you look at the Battle Pass and Event Pass where the image for the pass changes (Battle Pass changes to Carter on the cover of Halo: Reach and Event Pass changes to a red Spartan from that Halo 3 multiplayer concept art)
  • I always appreciate a good Red vs Blue reference
  • Your colour choice isn’t overridden by forcibly turning either red or blue (cool idea)
  • Sangheili (Elites), Unggoy (Grunts), Kig-Yar (Jackals), and Jiralhanae (Brutes) look their best in years
  • Sentinels and Skirmishers are back
  • Diminisher of Hope is a really cool name for a Gravity Hammer.
  • Upgrades pog
  • Grunts are funny (they made fun of Chief’s mom so he punched them)
  • I somehow felt emotion when the Grunts die (their death screams sound so painful)
  • Great Campaign for potato chip eaters
  • Grappleshot best equipment

The campaign was somewhat good. Still a bit “kiddy” for my liking tho. I liked the darker/mature games better like Reach and CE.

Core game play is really good. Weapons are pretty well balanced I guess. Vehicles need some serious work.

Campaign is fun but does get a bit boring at some parts and scared to do everything before the end of the game.

It looks good to and is funny.

Jega Rdomnai and Hyperius look really cool but die before you start to learn anything about them.

Grappleshot is fun and finding the skulls.

The grunts are funny.

BtB is pretty fun like sitting in a wasp killing people and having a dogfight with a banshee.

Fiesta being fun if you get good guns and the enemy gets bad guns, or the enemy get the best guns and are onyx or really better than you.

There are those golden moments in BTB like getting a skyjack or driving a mongoose with the person with the flag on the back to the base while being sh ot at or chased and make it back and win the game.

Music is halo music

Art stye look like halo

But no Craig oh wait he is doing a music tour of Zeda halo.

New blue lady that isn’t space bad German mustache man, also not brought back to life because dumb plot point and fan service.

Grunt bosses or any bosses, a monitor in massive sentinel and is British I think idk.

Halo 3 rat Easter Egg, also caused me to restart the mission because there is a checkpoint right there.

Can jack the pelican and get a scorpion gun. So can skip like half the game.

Elite that sounds so nice named Chak 'Lok.

Big sandwich

The core design is good. For the most part it feels and plays like a proper Halo game aside from sprint being a thing…That’s really about it though.

Everything else is bad, but with that said, if they give us ranked slayer and ranked swat then I’d probably play a lot more often.

Literally everything for me. I love all the weapons and how they each have their own niche on how they work and where they work best. This is one Halo game where I am actually excited to get on and play every day. I cant wait for more content since that will just make me even more excited to get on.

When the game works, it works really well. The gun play is solid and weapon balancing seems oddly good to me except maybe the ravager being a little underwhelming and the mangler being a bit overwhelming. But for what it’s worth, the gameplay itself is awesome.

When infinite adds more content and fixes the server issues, it’s going to be a great time.

I like that unlike 4 and 5, Infinite is good enough for me to actually want more.

I liked the music and tone of the game, and the visuals indoors were amazing.

I loved two campaign moments in particular, one when Spartan Griffith dies and Chief freezes up and goes radio silent for a moment, he just felt weary in a way I haven’t seen him, and I liked the moment where The Weapon seems to ask Master Chief if it’s okay to use Cortana’s name.

I really enjoy the massive changes to the difficulty an enemies encountered when playing on Legendary with the Catch an Thunder skulls on vs base Heroic settings. There is lots of replay value my style of play has shifted significantly. I have other skulls on too but even without Mythic skull on it’s a tactical fiesta with Thunder an Catch on. I’ve grown much in use of game mechanics an enjoying being halted. My previous Heroic playthrough seems abysmally easy now. The improved AI was a step forward especially the dialog. Mythic modified Marines may survive plasma nades an are hardy enough to provide support. I even had a skirmish with a Hammer wielding chieftain who chose to hide around the corner drop me a few times. Grunts taking 3+ Br shots to head are very lethal with nades, keeps you alert. The multiple Boss fights added significance to the story an PVP is solid.

I like how you can customize so many things: controller layout, deadzones, fov, audio, video, hud, weapon offsets, et cetera. Compared to Halo 5 you can really make this game a very personal experience.

I also don’t experience a lot of desync like many other people experience.

And right now this game feels really fresh.

The positives that stand out to me:

  • F2P multiplayer.

  • Control customization.

  • Marking system.

  • Cross-play with some input-based control.

  • Maintaining the slide, sprint, and clamber mechanisms; though, the slide mechanism could use some additional depth beyond just the curb-drop boost-slide technique.

  • FOV slider & HUD options.

  • The gunplay feel of the Battle & Assault Rifles.

  • Open Ring World campaign.

  • Master Chief gameplay centric campaign.

  • The return of map pickup deployable equipment.

Lots of negatives though.
