While I think the people who make decisions for how the game will change and when should be looking at the topics here and replying, I think having a positive topic without criticism here and there wouldn’t be so bad.
I can sort of understand those comments, but I agree they shouldn’t be making excuses.
As long as people are constructive with their criticism, 343 should be applying it to what they’re doing.
Making wily changes and trying to act friendly when they’re still trying to keep things bad isn’t right.
I like the base game
I like the fact the dont added a battle royale mode
I like the last weekly reward -shotgun coat-
I love the campaign and the sarcastic AI that I pick for my spartan
It has good game feel. Like, the sound effects, the way the weapons work, the way it feels to score kills, etc all feel good and make it fun to keep doing it.
I enjoy using the Repulsor. I somehow got a return to sender today, a medal of which I was unaware. The announcer said “Return to sender” and I was like “wut?” I also super love sitting on the stairs at the back of the tower on Live Fire. When someone comes up the stairs I can Repulse them over the railing and get a “Mind the Gap”. I’ve gotten five of those in one game. Of course some jerk always gets wise to what I’m doing, comes up and kills me using actual skills I don’t possess. Jerks.
Oh I have one, the maps are all cosmetically very nice to look at. There aren’t any maps where you can go wander around looking at the details and it’s just ugly or anything.
I especially like Streets and Aquarius, they really take me back to a Halo 3 sense of map presentation. They feel alive instead of just like a box you’re fighting in
I appreciate this thread. I’ve been prone to negativity lately, but I do think it’s helpful to remind myself (and others) of what’s working well for the game.
Aside from the core gameplay, the biggest thing I enjoy from Halo Infinite is a return to really strong sandbox mechanics working with one another. Remote detonations, Pancakes via repulser, grappling a flag to your base, or even the way they made it so that well-placed plasma grenades can launch weapons to you – that stuff is all brilliant and makes the game highly replay-able. I’m really excited to see more weapons and maps added to it, that will make this sandbox shine even more.
I liked that I could run through this miserable campaign with the tank gun so i dont had to deal with this garbage longer than i had to to unlock some achievements.
I like the character driven campaign. It’s the best Master Chief story by a considerable margin if you accept the premise.
The Weapon works well as a prop in which the Chief is dealing with his grief over losing Cortana. It is a clever idea that carries over very well from Halo 4.
I like all the reference’s to past halo games.
The open world was great. First time around exploring Zeta Halo was amazing.
The music and ambience is all top quality. Really sells that somber mood and tone.
It’s nice we got some answers to what happened to Cortana and why the Banished/Atriox are attacking humanity.
I really liked how Cortana was presented. They do a much better job in Halo 5 selling her and establishing how you the player/Chief are meant to view that. To the point of overshadowing the Weapon.
I was curious about what the Endless were, what had happened to Cortana and the Banished motivations/goal.
I think the multiplayer is very fun. It has a solid gameplay loop. BTB in particular really works IMO.
I like the multiplayer having its own cinematic and even a mission. More story is good.
Gameplay overall is the best its ever been for me in a Halo game. Faster, not too over-the-top like 5’s but still managing to feel like an evolution to the combat of the older games.
I liked the campaign. Not the greatest but enjoyed it far more than 5’s and once a mission select comes around I’d like to replay main missions again.
Weapon balancing and sounds overall are nice. Been watching those youtube vids of when they swap out weapon sounds with games like Halo 3 and oof…
I do love BTB - at least when I’m not playing Stockpile
The Personal AIs are also a really nice addition.
I also enjoy the rest of the game modes: Fiesta, Tactical, Slayer, etc. Between that and the gameplay I don’t find it a chore at all to keep doing Challenges every week.
The game is certainly limited and has its issues but there’s a lot that I like about it that keeps me coming back to play every week and anticipating more when it comes to the future content.
