Positives and Negatives of Warzone Firefight

You may have been indulging yourself in a bit of a firefight in Warzone in these past few days. Congatulations for playing.

There’s a few things I’d like to talk about. Firstly, the things I like, and the things I dislike. It all evaluates to what Halo Firefight is all about. Is it FUN?

Positives:

I like that we are our own colours. Can choose our weapons. (I feel like it’s sort of pointless using most REQ weapons but that’s just me. I usually just pick up the weapons the enemies drop and find them sufficiant enough to play threw the rest of the round.)

Can’t say too much else other than I’m glad we’re fighting more of the aliens/robots instead of the regular Firefight. (Too bad no one plays Warzone Assault in Australia, that would be so refreshing for once. Been 3 months and still can’t find a match.)

Mythic Warden Eternal scares the Hell Out Of Me!!! I wrote an article how he could’ve been much more valuable in the campaign in this article. I’m really glad 343 listened to me. However this fearsome looking Warden behaves no differently than his other original bodies. He still uses the same attacks every time. It’s so pathetic. He’s just got a new skin and that’s the best 343 can do to upgrade the awesome character? I could do better than that if I worked in 343 myself. He needs new tactics, new attacks. He needs to be awesome.

Negatives:

Legendary AIs aren’t just legendary. They’re far too accurate, cause far too much damage, and when I die it’s because I wasn’t hiding like a noob behind a rock shooting with a BR for 2 minutes straight.

The AIs (especially the soldiers and ALL bosses) which I’ve mentioned in a previous article, are way too overpowered. They barely do anything interactive or interesting during any battle. They just stand around shooting looking dumb as hell. It you haven’t noticed, all knights in Halo 5 have been severely dumbed down compared to Halo 4’s knights. In Warzone especially. Like hunters, they wouldn’teven care if they got shot a million times - they’ll still stand in the same location and diverting little attention towards “finding a way” to kill you. Instead it’s “stand you ground, shoot, absorb a million bullets and die”. I’m not impressed with the AI.

(I’ll say it here again the Promethean “soldiers” are stupid to fight. Halo 4 Knights were way cooler in numbers any day)

Another negative side is that although this might be a Beta, Escape from A.R.C isn’t a good map to fight either faction.

Another major thing I dislike is this Beta doesn’t feel the same as Reach Firefight. I don’t see why it’s so hard to resemble Reache’s firefight but for 343 it could take a lifetime to duplicate. Firefight is about surviving each round with limited lives for as long as possible. I don’t like running half way across the map to kill the enemy to see how long they can stay alive. They’ve completely turned the original objective upside down.

And why can’t I miss one shot from a grunt 100 meters away? Explain this to me please.

Anyway, that’s my rant. I’d love to see massive improvement in Warzone firefight. I don’t want to suck on 343’s toes and say “I love what you give me, give me the same boring stuff”. No, I want to be firm and say “you can do better and I know you can!” Like I asked earlier, is it fun? Well, my answer is obvious. “It could be much better”

It gets boring pretty fast, 8 team members feel like too much, could be harder or better waves with more variation. Other than that I do enjoy it

Fair points.

Gets sort of boring feeling after like an hour, I was at some point just forcing myself to go just because it was like 2200 REQ a game.

They should cut out the sides of the maps or something and make the focus on the firefights around certain spots depending on the map.

End up running from one end to the other end or running around looking for left overs with lots of dead time of not shooting at all.
Or just holding the analog stick and looking at my other monitors or my phone or something.

Everything is spawn kill-able except the bosses of course.

I feel like I have to camp and hide too much and even when I poke up to shoot I get dropped. If they want us to play on the entire huge -Yoink- map they need to tweak damage so you can always be on the move and shooting and not having to stop unless its a boss or something, or you spawn in a tank or something and it gets -Yoinked!- instantly by the enemies since they are deadshots.

I -Yoink- on enemies and bosses and then someone else taps it or hits it first a few times and I don’t get credit for -Yoink-. Not that I give a -Yoink- about points but finishing the commendations for yourself and your spartan company would be nice to not get screwed out of.

Maybe make the main neutral base of the warzone map some type of armory or something depending on your req unlocks and let you grab x things and x amount of them per game instead of using your cards? I don’t know. I sell everything because I want to unlock stuff. I literally have basically 1 of each item I have unlocked and don’t keep anything except snipers to be that guy in warzone when i’m bored.

Just added a Warden Eternal review in the article.

Am I wrong in this article or do most players enjoy this Firefight?
