Population Plummet

Yeah I don’t agree at all. Especially with 343 stating they wanted this game to be THE dominating halo game for 10 years. You can’t have those kind of numbers and expect the game to dominate.

After what the CM said, that is all anyone needed to know where they stand and it’s more than obvious not much is going to change because of how the game is designed. It’s set in stone and that is the problem.

What you mean you don’t enjoy pretty much every map being symmetrical 3 lane arena’s? :joy:

I must agree I absolutely hate the majority of the maps in this compared to past halo’s as well. Feels like I’ve been dropped into an FPS version of league of legends…

I still play like 1 or 2 games a day but there really ain’t nothing to do in this game.

I’ll only boot it up to activate a double xp to play 5 or 6 matches until the daily drops to 50xp to try and get through this grindy and unsatisfying af battle pass(you think the more games you play the higher reward of xp you’d get but hey time gates am I right). Really sucks you barely get anything good until you hit level 80+… they really wanted to try and frustrate players into just buying all the levels but I refuse to support such predatory monetization tactics.

I miss when it actually required some form of skill or dedication to unlock decent armor in a timely manner that players could recognize we’re hard to get but now its pretty much just an afk shooter with rng on whether or not you’ll get a large amount of xp for a match from challenges rather than rewarding you for being mvp of the game and winning with your team.

It’s a bit of a slap in the face to players who actually work towards earning their armor when someone can just drop their parents credit card and instantly have the very top tier gear… Now if you see someone in cool looking armor you just think… “geez… I wonder how much that guy just handed over to Microsoft.”

Not to mention the lack of pre or after game lobbies making it next to impossible to preview players stats, armor or fileshares making players feel completely detached from one another. Right now it feels as if there’s no difference from playing against bots to real life players besides the skill gap.

It cost them 500 million dollars to make this game. GTA 5 had a budget almost half that and it’s numbers are about double that any given day on steam. This game bombed man, oh and gta 5 was released in 2013. That’s a game that dominated a decade, this game will dominate 3 months,

Well it’s just a slow grower, give it some time. I told my gf that, and she was not impressed

“It’s normally bigger its just a little chilly in here atm”

The lack of forge and custom game options also severely hurts the replayability of this game atm… I thought surely by this point we’d at least be able to create custom games where players could spawn with unlimited grappling hooks and we could have spiderman matches but the option to edit starting abilities seems to be missing… even though this option is available in the singleplayer bot training mode.

The player base on MCC is tiny. And given that the game sold a few million copies in 2014, no, none of 343’s updates in 2017 to now brought them back in any meaningful capacity.

Spartan finder at one point seemed to be pulling accurate data in 2020. The game barely ever crossed 20k people combined on all platforms. It more often was much lower than that as well. Population spiked on the pc releases and quickly fell off.

That is a very small population for a multiplayer game. Especially so for a franchise that was once an industry titan.
Being able to successfully find a match or set up a custom game does not mean the game has a healthy population overall. Like you said with ranked it’s broken because there’s not enough players to support ranked modes on MCC.

Outside of peak times even social matchmaking it will be difficult to find games and even during peak times finding games for some specific halo games (like H2C) and modes can be difficult.

The serve browsers are active but there aren’t that many people using it. I only ever see a few dozen server entries most of which have low player counts

I agree that the MM system is a joke. You should be Q’d with and against your rank, not what your “true skill” is. Because more than likely that’s a bunch of horse $hite. It’s unfair when I’m Onyx 1775 and getting a plat and 2 diamonds on my team against 2 onyx and two D6. It’s not fun for anyone. I end up losing 11 elo if I lose even though I’ll top frag and have the highest KDA in the lobby.

The core game is incredible, the features are not great but they’re fixing all of that.

Its early morning for most of NA rn my guy

The game is in an absolute trash state. The PC population is probably plummeting because of all the issues, I mean just look at the first day of the HCS Raleigh tournament.

The game constantly crashes on PC and then bans PC players for leaving the match. If only there was a solution… Oh right, the ability to re-join matches, like almost every competitive game in 2021 already has.

The game is a piece of garbage right now on PC, and 343i have proved time and time again that when there are issues, it’ll take 5 years to fix them. So don’t expect the PC population to start growing again until maybe 6 months before the next halo releases.

Don’t worry though, one day 343i will figure out how to make a game that actually runs on PC without crashing and banning people, probably not for a long time, but one day. (Either that or Microsoft will just disolve 343i and give halo to another dev team)

Campaign was good but is easy to complete everything in 8-10hours or less.
*No forge mode: which is where a lot of individuals express their creativity and some people just play forge.
*BTB is broken. I can barely get into a game without seeing *5-7 error messages. It’s more usually.
*Lack of diversity in map selection
*You basically gotta get battle pass for cosmetics it feels like. And in my opinion they aren’t even that good.
*Hackers
*lack of popular modes like infection which I know many people love
*quitters and ranked challenges, you can’t even choose what ranked game mode you want to play.
Many reasons why many people don’t play.
I am the only one of my friends who are still playing, they all deleted it within few days to a week.
*vehicles feel really useless.
These are the reasons I see a lot of people quitting, and are annoyances to me as well, and yes they say they’re going to fix things, add things, etc, but it may be to little to late hopefully not though, but it’s looking that way. Too many years of production and even pushed infinite back and we have to endure these problems, and most of us are loyal fans who just want to see halo shine again. Imagine if the game was the way it was supposed to be.

Should jump back up this week for all the daily holiday rewards, this last week was just rough with the weekly challenge (lame reward), BTB issues, many people realizing that the battle pass has pretty weak customization that will take a lot of time to unlock

Absolutely, that’s what I’m sayin. We need custom games and forge in here asap
