The ranks are basically CSR right now. You can match 20 ranks above or below yours. It is a joke really. Ranked is social right now. All because of the games low population. 343 is about to make a bunch of money off of Halo 5 they should just make MCC free for Gold to save the game that made Xbox Live what it is today
That’s a nice idea in theory, but in practice 343 would be asking themselves if they seriously want to make free the last four Halo games on the eve of launch of the fifth. Not to mention the kick in the teeth to everybody who forked over $60 just a few months ago.
Sad to say, but better to let it quietly fade away and get everybody on board with the new game.

Did you play the Beta? That game that is being referred to as Halo 5 isnt and will never be “Halo” in my mind

If possible it will find close ranks, if there is no population it expands the search. It’s really annoying playing at level 30 and winning multiple games in a row and not leveling up due to it matching me up with low ranks Then on the off chance that a group of good players have just started playing so they’re a low level beat me. I’ll double de-rank due to the vast level difference. 343i have no idea how to make a game that follows their communities wishes. The whole point of the rank is to match evenly skilled players. Matching morons running around with ARs is ridiculous. I’ve had the same thing when searching with people in the 40s.
