Population increase after June 3rd?

What do you guys think this “game saving” update will increase the population by?

I’m guessing 10…

i dont think it will do much, most of the issues on this game stem from loadouts, ordnance, and the spawn system. Changing the weapons wont do much imo.

Without a Classic Playlist, we will never see much of a population change unfortunately.

The people who like Halo 4 are the ones who are still playing it.

We won’t get others back until there is somewhere for them to go in the game.

Most likely not, in fact, there is a possibility it could cause a decrease in population.

When you take a product that people like (however many that is) and change it for those that dont like it, you run the risk of upsetting those already pleased with the product.

Case in point, Reach’s Infection was unbelievably popular, but there was always a portion of the forum that called for more balanced game play. Fast forward to Halo 4 and the infected have been put on a more even playing field. A playlist that was consistently top 3 is now consistently bottom 3.

I don’t think it’ll help much, I think it’s the new gameplay that turned so many people away, weapon tuning may help a little but nothing dramatic. Maybe a few thousand

Not likely at all. They’re making updates that any PC would have recieved a month after release, and would be recieving multiple updates over the course of the next year or two.
It’s harder for developers to update on 360 considering Microsoft is asking 40,000 bucks for each tiny update, and requires you to wait a full month for certification process (this takes 3 days on Steam).

Not only that, but they’re choosing to ignore real concerns and issues the game has that’s the true fault of the population decreasing. Such as no local only search option.

Who said it was game changing? I don’t think we will see a population increase, definitely not as much as anyone on waypoint wants.

it wont go up by much especially after they lost so many people already.

I’ve noticed this too, and it’s pretty obvious why; it’s now fair. Players seem to love unfair maps and gamemodes where they might be able to dominate the other team. If it’s the other way around, seen this in reach with infected players, they just leave the match.

It’ll probably go up by a bit, but then it’ll likely drop again.

Depends on how it is, I am really hoping that Halo 4 can hit 100k again by the end of its life.

If the title update is successful for those that still play Halo 4, then the population could go up. In the end, it will really be up to us to try and convince our friends to give Halo 4 another shot due to the update.

Players aren’t coming back to Halo and those who left will never give it another chance. Let’s face it, Halo will never again be the big title that it once was.

Speculation, speculation, speculation. I hope you’re not trying to turn your statement into actual facts. I’m not a big fan of Reach or Halo 4 but I think Halo can still be a big title release if 343i can prove to make good use of the next gen’s features.

You serious? All the population does is go down.

I would point out that the introduction of fairness, has made people leave the entire game type, permanently.

Some things are not meant to be balanced, Infection is one of those things.

It’s still speculation, is it not? No matter how accurate you think your statement will be, there is no way to know for certain what you say is going to happen. I’m just trying to be realistic here.

Thurster Pack makes Flood unbearable. It makes the game more unbalanced than Reach’s was. The Flood now have a super advantage. And it’s hard to survive as a Human.

Although I’ll never understand why Reach’s Infection was highly popular.
When you’re a Human, you just snipe with the pistol like it’s no joke.
When you’re a Zombie, you just die a lot.
That’s super boring. On either sides.

Halo 3’s Infection was so much better.

Who exactly said these changes would be game saving? All it’s going to do is improve gameplay for those of us who are still around. Which is good.
