How bad is the population gonna drop this week with all the new major titles coming out this week and over the next few weeks. Who’s staying on halo and who’s leaving?
since you cant pick what server you want to play on and if you live outside of USA you have to play on 300 ping, im guessing halo will die once again
People are going to leave to play the single player titles. That is a given. As far as xbox is concerned, people who like CoD will probably play CoD and people who like Halo will probably play Halo. The drop will be the norm for fall launch titles when people pick their preferred games and play them. Christmas will bring in a surge. There will be plenty of people playing Halo so long as 343 adds to the existing content.
i’ll come back eventually, but with fallout 4 and legacy of the void coming out in a few days, there definitely will be a hiatus.

Couldn’t agree more. Now if 343i listens to their community then I see that drop being less drastic! Now if they don’t people will find other games. I am very hopeful for the December update because they already stated they were fixing my issue with the game. Now I am interested in Battlefront that game looks fun but like all BF franchise games I tend to just go right back to halo.
Halo 5 is the biggest exclusive launch ever seen on an Xbox console. It won’t die down the way 4 did.
A population drop is unavoidable.
Black ops 3, Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider are just some games out now or next week.
Fallout 4 in particular will effect population.
Black op3 plays differently to Halo though so don’t see it as too much of a threat.
I bought BO3 last night and have played it but still like Halo 5 more.
A population drop doesn’t mean the game will die as it will still have loyal players.
Even Titanfall is still fun and that has had a massive drop in population since it launched.

I too got BO3 last night. It will probably take the CoD fans attention away but it isn’t gonna steal Halo fans away for the most part.
Atm, there isn’t anything like Halo 5 coming out anytime soon so Halo has that going for it. People who enjoy the gameplay will stay unless 343 doesn’t do anything to keep the game fresh.
Titanfall was killed by the April patch that they dropped a month after the game. I have never seen a patch put a game in the grave so quickly.
Especially with all the free dlc.
Halo 5 - Multiplayer (xbox)
BO3 - Zombies (no survival in halo) (xbox)
Fallout 4 - campaign/solo experience (pc)

It’d be cool if halo had a survival with points to buy req cards (instead of the levels you had points) but, knowing activison a sue may ensue if that were to happen

especially with the forge update hitting in mid December
Don’t worry about population levels. Just play the game and have fun!
This doesn’t really have any constructive or productive outcome except for Chicken Little Syndrome.
