Does anybody know why the population counter is removed? I usually like to see how many people still play this game.
Probably wasn’t worth the data used to track it all.
I noticed this recently too. Wish I knew why but indeed it’s very strange that its suddenly gone!
my guess, which i have done no research on, so take it as it is.
They were probably embarrassed because Reach could keep a population, and most people in Reach don’t play 343’s TU playlists.
but i didn’t check on any of these thoughts, so it’s just as accurate as any news article you can find.
I think they just removed it. It annoys me though because i like to see how many pepole are playing.

They removed it all right, it pisses me off so bad sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes before I realize the gamemode I want to play probably has only about 3 or 4 people playing. If you want to be assured which playlists are quickest to join team slayer, anniversary slayer, team snipers, multi team and btb usually have 70-100 players online so joining those game modes wont take too long.
You don’t have to be a genius to know that there is no much people still playing this game maybe that’s the reason they remove it
Probably just removed it because wasn’t worth the space to them who knows

True. However, I wouldn’t call a previous 2000-3000 active players too bad for a 7 year old spin-off in today’s market. I still play. Haven’t given up on finishing up Inheritor!
We may not find out the true reason but I guess age and resources could be why.
There are 2 separate servers one of them is down - the matchmaking server is fine though.
I would like to get that as well. Was H3 the last halo game to have that?
yeh i miss this feature from subsequent games

There’s anywhere from 7000 to 9000 players during peak hours. There were 8000 active players on one day before the counter was removed. I personally think it might have been removed do to the embarrassingly small Halo 4 community at least in comparison to Reach which has a couple years on 4. “Let’s just hide those numbers so people won’t think our game is inferior.” It is sorry but it just is.
It appears none of the games have a population counter anymore. There is only one obvious reason why: There isn’t very many players. Even if the population count is small, we should still be able to see how many people are actually playing. But then people might realize more people are playing the classic games than new (or vice versa) and oh, the horror!
I’m rather irked that it’s gone. It was nice to know if the playlists I wanted to play were worth searching in.
Its anoying cause thats how i would determine what playlist to play.

Same here, but BTB and team slayer are usually the most popular
I don’t know what you guys are talking about, but I still see the population counter.

Ya but with team snipers sometimes there 10 people. Sometimes 100. Bassically sometimes playable and sometimes not. Now I dont know.
Like how many people it showed playing that playlist? Because I honestly don’t remember Reach having a population counter.
