I really liked when h3 had a population counter of everyone online and per playlist. I think halo reach also did this and i think it would be sweet to see like 2 million players online day 1 or whatever the total population will be.
Do you think h5 will have one or would you like it to be added later on?

I agree, it seems like they’ve taken away a lot of nice small features that were beneficial to the players. Obviously it’s not a big deal but still. Remember when bungie.net used to have heat maps where you could see where the most kills happened on maps, and even what weapons you had been killed by most. Those were some really cool features that we just don’t see anymore…
I think it would be nice but I don’t think the one from Halo 3 even worked that well in the first place. It would be really cool to have one that worked though, and updated every hour or so
I loved it in Halo 3. Nice to know how many online and it was nice to look at the earth model with the glowing dots. Clearly the only reason for not having it is to hide the population drops if they happen. Was the case with H4.

I had completely forgotten about those heat maps! I remember always visiting Bungie’s website and seeing those but never looking much into them. Those truly were some nice features that showed the intricacy and detail Bungie put into their work.

The idea is that if a playlists population is shown to be low people wont even bother to queue up. Meaning that a lot of people would flock to playlists with the high population making them just continually gain more, and the lesser played playlists never gain.
Edit: Halo 4 had one so who knows if it will be in at launch.
I would like to know the population cause I love FFA, but its taking longer and longer to find a game. I am a onyx 1700 but there should be a lot of onyx player out there surly.
I like them but I think if the population gets low and people see it falling week by week people would stop plying and go to the more popular games. So I hope never
