The after game scoreboard screen has 3 tabs -
- Player Recap
- Team Lineup
- Scoreboard
The Team Lineup screen is totally unnecessary as the players obviously appear on the scoreboard and could action whatever you have planned for that screen there - it currently takes you to Player Recap screen so currently serves no purpose at all.
The Player Recap screen should not be on a tab and should only be accessible by clicking your name and others’ names on the scoreboard, and has very little extra information so should be expanded like in previous titles.
This would get rid of the use of tabs altogether and make the scoreboard screen the landing page after the match (excluding any BP etc popups first).
I’ve previously mentioned the scoreboard is totally broken and still is - trust me, it’s happening on at least 50% (worse on certain team) of everybody’s matches but hardly anyone realises as no-one pays any attention to it now with no service records or extra stats and buried in the third tab.
- some columns not programmed at all and always show zero
- the team colours switching (so if your colours are blue for you and red for the enemy, you will be shown in red)
- winners not in order (winner not at top, everyone random)
- the team names switching (similar to the 2nd bullet point with eagle/cobra)
- the wrong winning team in top right corner shown
- N/A shown as your team and/or the winning team
- in stockpile the steals and ‘captures?’ are reversed
- incorrect and inconsistent rounding of individual oddball score
- in oddball instead of 2-0 or 2-1 being shown the overall points are shown and this has a much more serious problem of the win can be awarded to wrong team.
For example
round 1 team 1 wins 100 - 99
round 2 team 2 wins 1 - 100
round 3 team 1 wins 100 - 99
Overall team 1 should win 2 rounds to 1, but team 2 is awarded the win 201 - 298 - lots of other issues
NOTE: THIS IS POST-GAME SCOREBOARD, IN-GAME IS FINE.
The scoreboard itself is split over approx 6 screens depending on gametype, the data only fills a third of the screen and has huge gaps between each column.
Once the broken parts of the scoreboard are fixed why not:
- move the team score to the top (I mean it’s already duplicated in the top right corner so could delete it or replace that) - freeing up another third of the screen
- make the column widths narrower (fit to size)
- flip the headers either vertical or 45degrees
- consolidate the data onto one page and use two alternating slightly different shades of chosen team colours to highlight/separate the columns.
I’ve tested this - it fits and is not cluttered but if there’s an option for bigger text, then even splitting over 2 screens would be so much better than 6!
You’d then be able to see the whole match data on one page (maybe an option for two pages if people want bigger text) instead of 3 tabs AND 6 screens, this would also make it better for people watching streams/YouTube - being able to see all stats without the creator scrolling through.
It’ll get people to the store quicker as well, if that sells the idea to you, as they’ll be able to see everything quicker and move on!
