Poor Matchmaking

Hi all. Just curious–I’ve never been a huge gamer before so maybe this is the norm, but I feel like the game’s ability to assemble even Slayer matches has been really poor. The vast majority of ranked games I’ve been playing in are decided by one factor, and that’s which team has the inevitable person who’s -10. In a lot of cases, this has been the result of getting Golds or Plat 1/2s mixed into Diamond/Onyx games, so it’s obviously not their fault and no fun for them to be getting crushed by people who they shouldn’t be matched with.

Is there a reason related to the distribution of people in different ranks or the matching algorithm that causes these matchups? Or are multiplayer games just generally lopsided in Halo?

Or maybe I’m just imagining it. In which case, ignore me!

Short version: lower population = worse matchmaking.

Depending on where you play from, when you play, and what your skill is, it may be difficult for the matchmaker to find you an even match. Because it’s a 2+ year old game that has been, to put it mildly, polarizing.

Your best chance is to find 3 other players and play with them or your going to keep getting the -10 players

I mean, there’s always the Social playlists. I never seem to have issues searching in Social
