Poor Map Roatation = Halo 5 being boring

This poor map rotation in Arena Slayer is killing me right now. There are all of these maps (actually not that many) and it seems to go through the same maps over and over. I was playing the other night and I got Mercy 5 times back to back. After those 5 times we kept getting Mercy, Overgrowth and Molten non stop. Continuously playing a small rotation of maps is kind of annoying honestly.

is anyone else having this issue ?

It’s across all types…I played Colosseum 6 out of 8 times last week on Team Arena. I play Damnation 3 out of 5 times on Anniversary Playlist. It just seems each month one map per playlist will outweigh all the others by a large margin.

In slayer is seems like you mostly get the newer maps. Same thing in doubles and other playlists that are not Team Arena. Its like they want you to play on their newer maps for the most part.

I didn’t see some maps for as long as 6 months that I thought they had been removed and maps I enjoyed just disappeared.

It messes with my rank too cause some maps I know well and others I don’t because I very rarely see them and from watching youtubers they seem to have more variety so I don’t get it.

Is there a way to check the percentage for each map that I have played?

Halo 5’s map rotation is awful in every single playlist. They should either improve it or implement a veto system (not the voting system) to prevent the same maps being chosen over and over again.

This sounds just about right with what’s been going on with me.

At least you have a way to rotate the maps. I run Halo 5 Forge For Win 10. It sucks not having a server browser and to having a way to rotate the maps! That really sucks! You cant even kick or ban people when hosting a custom map. How lame is that?

Well there’s that, but I just think they are boring for the most part anyways. I can not careless if any of these maps didn’t make it into the next game…

I agree. They do seem very dull and every map has a freaking evil twin. Truth - Regret, same freaking map. Feel like they have no ideas of being original at all.

Yep, the percentages badly need a readjustment… I wish they’d weigh maps like Plaza and The Rig a bit higher… instead (the far worse) Overgrowth and Mercy pop up like every other match.

I also rarely ever get Truth, or Coliseum, or Fathom… other maps I generally really enjoy playing.

Slayer has generally become a playlist where the only maps you play are overly segmented blocks of Swiss cheese where you camp and play cat and mouse with the enemy… and sprint around blind corners and hit the panic button to Spartan Charge unsuspecting foes. Enemies eat shots, then escape around a corner…

Halo’s gameplay shines on much more open style maps, and the more hardcore sect of the community has been saying this since at least the H4 era, probably since Reach, and look at how H5 is turning out. There’s plenty of decent maps in the game, yet the common maps in these playlists are glorified mazes with claustrophobic, cluttered map design, where mindless tactics like sprinting around and Spartan Charging become far too effective for the game’s own good.

you basically just described my frustration with this game. I swear every time I get killed it from someone hiding around a corner or crouching around the map in general.

I feel like they put way to much into the maps that makes them pretty much unplayable. They basically created the maps to force you to use the abilities, having all of the jumps and high places to reach.

I’ve gotten Mercy once since it launched. I must be an outlier.

Veto system is the way to go.

I haven’t played Torque in a month or more. It is not my favorite map, but I would like to get to play it ever once in a while.

Dubs and FFA are very frustrating with regard to map rotation. Most of the time it seems I’m playing molten, riptide, and overgrowth in dubs and molten/mercy in FFA. The weight of the newer maps needs to be reduced in matchmaking.

And when that set first came out I did damnation like 6 times in a row. I love rat race but ibthinkbi played it 2 times… it’s always either battle creekbor damnTion…

Give us a Social Slayer playlist with a larger variety of maps, forge maps welcome!

I like battle creek but playing 4 time in a row and especially having abilities involved kills it for me.
