Which type of matchmaking would you prefer? (Feel free to elaborate in the comments!)
- I strongly favor CBMM. I have no tolerance for lag and high latency matches.
- I mainly prefer CBMM, but I want some degree of SBMM involved.

- I strongly favor SBMM. I want to have more skill-balanced matches.
Acronyms:
CBMM = Connection-Based Matchmaking
SBMM = Skill-Based Matchmaking
Personally, I like having both, but when it comes down to it, I’d prefer CBMM if it meant I wouldn’t get shot through walls and killed at half shields by a grenade that rolls 6 meters past me. To me, the whole point of SBMM is often defeated by the ridiculous latency issues caused by being paired in servers farther from me.
What do you all think?
Bad poll.
Want SBMM in ranked. CBMM in social.

Have you actually played Ranked? I constantly find myself in matches with 150ms ping and getting killed around corners. It invalidates a good chunk of skill when you have no time to react to a grenade that lands in front of you in a fraction of a second.

I’m onyx in ranked.
SBMM ranked. CBMM social.
There’s the same amount of SBMM in both. So you will be playing the same pool of people whether it’s in “social” or ranked. But as you said yourself, skill doesn’t mean much when the connection isn’t good enough to facilitate its differences.

CBMM should have a higher priority in ranked and social.
SBMM in ranked anything else for social.
If this is for social, I’d say CBMM with a degree of SBMM… Mostly because I’d like it to be reasonably close. Stomps are never fun for neither side… If I wanted to stomp someone I’d play bot matches… Those don’t sound remotely social in the slightest.
I’d prefer them release server lists too for customs matches created by the community as well. That is where the true social/casual experience would take place.
