A single bullet weapon is better imo. It doesn’t matter what weapon it is, as long as it has the right range and fire rate. The BR is just iconic to the franchise. I feel like that’s the biggest reason we have it. Not necessarily having anything to do with any evidence suggesting its better for the settings. I don’t believe any exists. There’s probably a better argument for the magnum than there is for the BR. It just has to be tailored for the game, not an exact clone. I don’t think it will happen though, but…10 years is quite a bit of time to shake things up when current settings get stale.

It can be argued from things outside of gameplay perspective, but in terms of gameplay I think hands down a modified h5 magnum that has a slight bit slower fire rate and the right RRR for the input eco system (if it’s even possible) could feel good for the settings.

There are a lot of people who will instantly hate the idea of that though. Stating it was so OP and over used in h5…but…the BR was guilty of that across more than just 1 game. Each game has its main utility weapon.

That being said. I’m fine with what we have right now though. I don’t hate it or anything like that.

I do think that Single shot is superior for competitive play (which is Ranked basically) as it increases skill gap and makes for more interesting gunplay.

BR is obviously more iconic, but its simply to easy to use to ideal.

That weapon (BR) also allows you to drag your reticle and get 1 lucky bullet from the burst to land on someone’s head who is 1 Shot during a panic swipe.

To be fair to the BR, the BR is probably superior in terms of what spectators/viewers want to see for competitive play, however Halo 5 magnum had a higher skillgap and less range so you couldn’t snipe people across the map (I’m looking at you Behemoth)

Halo 5 was far more entertaining to watch. It was so cool seeing all the chain combos of movements with the Halo 5 Magnum. Now it’s just Sprint sliding everywhere. super boring. Br doesn’t really bring anything to the table for me either
