[Poll] What do you think is important for 343 to work on right now?

What do you think is important for 343 to work on right now?

Since 343 seems to have a hard time working on multiple things at once, I’d like to gauge what everyone’s real priorities are. IMO, the customization and store microtransactions suck… but I don’t think it’s a huge priority to fix; for example, I’m still going to play the game if the microtransactions were $100 each. Unfortunately, the Store/Microtransaction seemed to be 343’s first major priority.

I’m purposing leaving off fixing/improving the Battlepass because that’s more than 3 months out. I’m hoping SOME of these things will have been implemented before Season 2.

Select the things important to you:

  • Additional content, like Maps and Game Modes (King of the Kill, Zombies, etc.)
  • Add Forge and Custom game browser
  • Fix general server issues (desync, high pings, optimization)
  • Ban cheaters (aimbots, wall hacks, etc. Including adding in-game report button)
  • Better Customization (cheaper, and more microtransactions. Allow cross-core colors/addons, etc.)
  • Fix Big Team Battle
  • Overall progression system and/or service record (Rank system outside of Ranked Playlist. And Stat tracking)
  • Better Ranked progression (ie. get ranked based on objective score, not just K/D. Also, fix winning 5 games for +10 CSR, and lose 1 game for -10 CSR)
  • Pre-game and Post-game lobbies (better social interactions)
  • Campaign DLC and co-op
  • Halo Battle Royale (ie. Fortnite/Apex but Halo style)
  • Better transparency and communication from 343 (ie. weekly dev blog, more survey’s, roadmap, etc.)

If anyone votes anything other than server issues, they are objectively wrong. If your game is unplayable, make it playable first. All other issues should come second.

Very specific and sort of confusing list lol. I don’t even know where to begin voting on there.

343i will do absolutely nothing about the servers because they are Azure servers that MS is responsible for. Pigs will fly before anything happens here.

I guess I should’ve put bugs first, but I put BTB getting fixed first.
unplayable for 2 months.
Free game, I know, I’m a dirty little entitled consumer.
who am I to judge a benevolent company selling the most fun parts of the game at exorbitant rates whilst leaving the majority of the gameplay parts broken and in the dust.
they’re porr wittle survurs UwU pwease sir can i hab som moar money??

Fix desync issues, additional content, better ranked progression, in that order.

I know realistically, BTB needs to be fixed first, but I don’t play it so it’s not on my radar tbh.

First and foremost, they need better communication and transparency. I know that Sketch and Unishek have to deal with the formal side of business speak and restrictions, but there needs to be more communication in general from everyone in charge. This can also be done alongside everything else as well.

Considering there should also be several sub teams working on projects, the sandbox related teams need to finish Forge and Infection as those two items are the literal backbone of what allows Halo social games to live on.

The art and UI teams need to fix up customization by returning free choice of color and removing core lock restrictions.

I know there are a lot of issues with Halo Infinite that user’s have pointed out including myself. However, since I really don’t play in the multiplayer. I play mostly in the Custom Games area 99% of the time. I could care less about ranks, stats or customization.

My only concern is in the Custom Games Area Only! I just want a Custom Game Browser until we get Forge and fix the Custom Game Server connection issues. To be honest that is all I am concerned about nothing else! :fist_right: :fist_left:

My thought as well. The servers and netcode are borderline unplayable. Everything concerning this game’s networking is inexcusably bad. This game feels worse to play than off-host Halo 2 did back in 2004.

After they fix that, add content. Then I don’t care.

I should add, I think the melee hit registration would fall under “Fix general server issues” - I think desync is the cause for melee hits not hitting (maybe?).

Some of the things that could fall under “Other” could be things like:
Change Player collision (being able to walk through allies. Revert it back to the way it was in pervious Halo)
Adding “Firefight” (ie, multiplayer PvE, survival mode)

So far, confidence restored because of people’s answers and priorities👍

I put content first
desynch second
progression system third

don’t hate me, I just figured desynch will be done by February, because it has to be

Really should have been a sandbox option, even with bad servers I can enjoy a good game with bots over local connection with no ping…except I can’t because I despise the sandbox.

Priority 1: fix the game. Connection issues are bad in ranked, but it does make some level of sense that they have to prioritize finding balanced lobbies. But it is inexcusable for connection to be this bad in casual playlists. If I queue into something like ffa or fiesta, why on earth is the game prioritizing sbmm over connection? I don’t need to match with dia/onyx players in casual modes, I’m just trying to chill. Getting connected to Australia to rubberband all over the map when I just wanted to play the clown variety mode is utterly unacceptable. And they wonder why “bad actors” are geolocking.

And I consider the btb issues to be a symptom of this fundamental issue with connectivity, rather than a separate issue. I could be wrong, but I would prioritize fixing the game as a whole in any case, then addressing the narrower scope issues if problems persist.

Priority 2: content. I can create a team snipers match in custom in 2 minutes, there is really no excuse for these simple variations to not be in game currently. Stuff like koth and infection I can understand taking a bit longer because they need more work than just changing a few values and adding the playlist to the menus, but they are sorely missed. One of the reasons that oddball feels so bad is that you get it every other game. That wouldn’t be so much of an issue if there were more modes in the rotation.

Maps are another beast, and will take even longer to produce and playtest, but are yet another thing that would help the experience greatly. As with modes, It starts to feel oppressive when you queue into the same map back to back to back, and will get it every other third game regardless. This is also an issue for btb, as the available maps for 12v12 all have the same aesthetic, so even when you get a different map it feels very samey. Forge tools and a customs browser would help a lot here, but it can’t entirely replace having a variety of core maps.

Everything else can wait, though the current monetization/customization scheme is ridiculous and I honestly cannot believe they launched a free to play online shooter with no report functionality for the inevitable cheaters.

Seriously. Any issue concerning functionality should be at the top of the list. All the new content or cheap/free cosmetics on the planet won’t overcome issues that hurt gameplay.

Really think they should ease up on the bans. Yesterday I had someone feed the enemy team kills so the game would end faster. Ya, thanks, you deterred him from cheating so he screws up my game even more! Would rather the fool quit rather than FORCING me to lose. At least if he left I still have a fighting chance.

what there need to do is fix first the big problems in the game more.
then i mean more.
chance the crossplay system from force to option and also fix some other problems a lot off playlist’s have.

and after that is more done adding some new content and new playlist’s in the game.

Interesting information so far. With about 60 people answering so far, “Fixing BTB” is important to a lot of people, but not a lot put as a top Priority. I’m in the same boat. I hope 343 see’s this and can shift their efforts to some of the higher priorities.

Why would you add more microtransactions as an example of better customization? It should be more earnable armor like they said would be in the game.

For other option it should be more diverse environment maps and locations, in cities, on covenant/alien ships, snow maps, classic maps, etc.

So of the top 8 most important things in this community, they decided to address ONE of them last night in their post (BTB).

I thought at the very least we were supposed to get a Roadmap this month?!?

That will come with the Feb update probably
