I don’t think so. Step 1, release Forge and see where it goes and focus on adjusting it. Step 2, release a custom game browser that supports correctly.

I think the custom games browser will be better to have once the popular modes/maps lists have been available for a bit.

It’s not ideal. But it OK to have a little bit of time for Forge to breathe.

Ngl, I kinda wish the poll options ended with “Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:”

I think CGB should be a “ship-with” feature from now on, but technically it didn’t exist when 3, Reach, 4, etc. were made. Not saying that’s an excuse, but Forge has succeeded with out CGB before. I don’t see why it can’t here. They have File Share which is less advanced, big brother of CGB, which is the important part.

I’m gonna say no it isn’t a bad idea. HEAR ME OUT! Custom games are barely functional in private servers, wouldn’t it make more sense for 343 to fine tune private custom game lobbies BEFORE implementing a browser? It’s like this community forgot custom games on their own don’t work.

I wouldn’t say that it was a 100% bad idea. Infinite and Halo as a series will benefit from Forge, just probably not as much as it would have if Forge had a custom games browser to collaborate with.

I think that people are going to make cool maps (and art etc.) and then have problems getting the community to play on those maps without a custom games browser. There are ways around the lack of custom games browser, but I think it’ll attract less players and thus map makers may find it hard to get playtesters early on for their maps which may negativity effect the maps and the map makers enthosiasum for making those maps.

I feel like it’s safe to say that as a Halo fan myself, I would’ve happily paid money for a lot of items that are missing. We think short term as fans, 343i thinks long terms as profits.

IMHO Well there is no way in hell I would pay for a Custom Game Browser! Not gonna happen since the custom game area is still broken. However . . . . .

I WOULD PAY FOR SOME DEDICATED SERVER SOFTWARE! So I would not have to rely on Microsoft’s Game Servers!!

No because there are temporary workarounds (discord, Xbox LFG, etc.). We need Forge ASAP.
