Poll: Should Halo Infinite's Multiplayer Have Player Collision?

I’m super annoyed that my teammates can get killed. 343, I would buy bunny ears if you could disable damage for teammates.

But with all seriousness… I know it’s a common assupmtion that the modern gamer doesn’t want to think, but maybe devs can give them SOME credit by letting them use their brains when playing games. I could understand the decision if there would have been a massive outcry about FF and collision beein a problem. But there wasn’t… so why the heck change it?! -.-

For friendly fire I figured it was obvious. When you go ftp, it brings the trash in with it.

For no collision, I don’t know. The reasons they’ve given have been pretty minor when compared to frustrating side effects.

It does speak to testing being people who don’t seem very familiar with the franchise

No player collision makes me sick.

No player collision but a teammate can still block your shot / grande throw…

What was even the point of removing player collision? Lmao

Like I don’t understand why they removed it. The math just doesn’t add up in my head.

Player collision and FRIENDLY FIRE!!! At least in swat. Its what made swat more of a challenge. Now we just have 4 monkeys jumping in the start of Aquarius, all on top of each other trying to get a kill. Add FF and people will be more careful how they go about. Also I loved when a team mate runs into a room or around the corner and just pop them on accident. Makes me smile but also, My bad man :stuck_out_tongue:

Because apparently people were blocking teammates from going through certain paths

Despite the fact those said teammates usually found another path to get to where they were going

They also listed them blocking shots as a reason iirc

But the funny thing is that still happens without player collision

This may add fuel to a fire that doesn’t need to be burning, but I heard one of the reasons was the pros were complaining that collision was interfering with their opening strats.

I have a hard time believing this.

Yes collision but only during melee lunge.

And or collision from behind but only with enemies.
(Walk through a friends back, but stop against an enemy)

Nothing like blowing yourself up with a Rocket because your teammate walks right through you as you press the trigger and takes your rockets from your corpse

Summon Thy Collision!!!

This poll had a strong consensus.
It would be great to see player collision back in Halo.

Yeah 1601 votes with it still being 90% on 10% off is a pretty compelling argument. Just wish they’d actually do it. Every poll I’ve seen on here has resulted in the same numbers. Numbers are numbers 343i. They’re real and they say turn collision back on.

I don’t have the link, but they recently said that player collision WILL be an added feature for forge mode at some point. So it is potentially coming.

Maybe someone else saw the same thing i did and remembers where ?

I feel like I’ve heard that too, but I don’t remember where. The last thing I remember hearing from 343i officially was the post season 1 wrap up “what we learned” and they said “opinions are mixed so we’re just going to keep it off” which seems to be odd since every poll I’ve seen on here has been 90% on 10% off. Every poll has been that.

I just heard about this in the last week or so. Possibly from a different source.

And it will be a custom game option ( not forge mode idk what i was thinking lol ).

Right it was in a season 3 info video I watched. They’re adding the ability to turn on collision in customs. Of course that requires customs to work.

I’d like to see player collision turned back on aswell

People that vote against Player Collision dont understand physics… Not trying to be mean… People that are complaining about other players “getting in your way” or “Bumping into you” dont understand tactics and want an easy way out… Please understand… when you remove a physical element such as Player Collision out of the equation, it leads to a very poor, cheap, low budget looking environment.

During one of the HCS majors I saw a Cloud9 member phase through his team mate who had the oddball in his hands. The team mate who had the Oddball was randomly punching the air as his teammate phased through his body which lead to a back smack and his teammate dying… When I saw that it was the most low budget, cheap, poor looking thing I have ever seen in a Halo game. Its childish and it needs to be fixed ASAP if 343i wants me to take this game seriously…

Im starting to think that this Halo was truly made for noobs and new comers… Player Collision is essential to the sandbox and anything other than that is NOT Halo, end of story!!!
