Ya I love the current system where I can walk right through a team mate on foot, but then literally mow them down TK with a vehicle. Great design.
I have no idea why this was changed or why they felt it needed to be as this poll clearly shows… As long as I don’t STICK to people like in DESTINY then I want collisions on, but Halo never had that particular problem.
After playing the flights and now about 15 hours of the beta, I really think we need collision back. Melee fights are so messy because you just phase through people and end up spinning around trying to find out where they went
I had another instance yesterday where an enemy slid right through me, so I just turned around and back smacked them. This should not happen, at the very least we need collision for enemies
I came across an AFK player last night, enemy collision is definitely on as I was able to push them around. But there is something weird about it. I couldn’t jump on their head, I would just slide down to one or the other side. And trying to push them was much harder than previous games. Like they were slippery or something.
But I’ve had plenty of confusing melee fights that felt like collision was off. So, I don’t know what’s going on.
I’ve been killed by my own grenade on two occasions now because a teammate phased through me just as I was throwing it, causing it to bounce off their head and land at my feet. Extremely annoying.
Please 343, please add player collision back. It brings fun tactics. It gives more realistic feelings. The lack of player collision messes with CQB so much. It just doesn’t make sense to not have it.
Remember when 343i tried to justify the removal of player collision because the community was “split”? What they didn’t tell us was that it was almost a 9:1 split in favor of restoring player collision.
Listen to your community 343i. What you need to fix is all here in the forums (and is the EXACT same feedback that was almost unanimously given during the technical flights!)
I didn’t read the whole thread so someone might have mentioned this already, but part of why I feel player collision is necessary is because I constantly have epic gunfights interrupted by friendlies just walking through me and attacking the same player (more often than not failing to hit my target and getting us both killed)
I’ve also constantly run into the issue of phasing through enemy players when trying to melee because the melee lunge decided to finally work and carried me through the enemy player’s hitbox. Sometimes I’ll be perfectly lined up for a backsmack only to lunge through and punch their front causing what should be a nice stealth 1 hit ko, into a fist fight
The lack of player collisions is getting more and more annoying the more I play the game. My biggest issue with it now is how badly it messes with close quarters combat. It seems as though there are no collisions at all between players, and that it is not limited to allied players like I originally thought.
Please 343, change player collisions back to the way they always were.
