It would be cool if they had a faction option, Banished, Swords of Sangheilios, and UNSC, and each one of those allowed you to be a different playable species. Brutes would be Banished, Elites would be Swords, and UNSC would be Spartans as always.
I think it would be really cool to do because you could have different AI’s, Commanders, and armor for each clan. Imagine for Swords of Sangheilios we get Rtus Vadum as our Commander, I’d name one for the Banished but I’m not sure who’s still alive because I haven’t finished the campaign yet.
But seriously, there are almost endless possibilities with player expression if Brutes and Elites are added as being playable, it’s too good an opportunity to pass up.

We got Atriox for Brutes, arbiter and Jega for the Sangheili, Stolt for the grunts, but… none for the kig-yar….
When will we get a kig-yar who is all aboutt comraderie

I would like to see the addition of Elite (and possibly Brute) body types, but I wouldn’t say to add them as armor cores just because I’m not a huge fan of the armor core system.
I think they have to clean up and change how they handle armor customization as a baseline before we can reasonably have alien body types.

Stereotypes aren’t necessarily a bad thing is in this instance. Grunts being cowards that like to trash talk is a part of their character, and charisma. Brutes being savage and reckless is just how Brutes are, they wouldn’t be as cool without that.
I will admit that it is cool to see a character that breaks a stereotype every once in a while like Atriox, but overall I don’t see it as that big of a deal.

One thing I think is clear.
of those that care 50% want to be able to play as any alien, 25% want just elites, and 25% don’t want either.
this means that round 75% want playable aliens in some way.
Note this is by rounding averages through out the polls time.

My jdea for a Kig-yar boss would be a Buff ahield jackal with lots of health and overshields AND a poibt defence gauntlet who distrakes you while his stealthy sister Skirmisher (with camo) attacks you with an energy cutlass
Someone modded playable elites in infinite. That being said, after watching them… the models would need a major overhaul. Giving H2 vibes.
I find it annoying because people hse said stereotypes to say “i hate kig-yar, they are all pirates and only care about money”.
Plus, it is not how intelligent life works….
I mean it is like those people haven’t heard of modern PMCs.
