So, playing solo in ranked. I personally don’t mind having a radar at all except one little annoyance - I’m walking and hear footsteps behind me, I know they’re there but I presume it’s my team, I’ve just spawned, surely this game wouldn’t be so stupid as to spawn me with an enemy behind me, right? Oh back smack, nice.
I knew they were there because I heard them but didn’t want to turn around as the odds are it’s my team and in turning around I’ll be wasting time and likely get shot in my new back’s position. If I knew my teammate was behind me I could concentrate on the rest of the map.
In the real world I’d say, “is that you Bob?” and my teammate will say, “yeah, chill” and we’d be on our merry way but this is halo, we hate each other, we don’t talk to each other, we blame each other and we only unite to push 343 around.
Anyway, I didn’t play a lot of ranked on H5 later on but as I remember it - enemies only showed up when sprinting, shooting and using other abilities.
I’d like to see a hybrid version where enemies don’t appear on the radar at all and the radar is purely for teammates. I feel this would also let you know what the priority is for objective and where to push in slayer based on their position.
Note I’m talking about RANKED. and I know there’s little arrows flying around the edge of the screen pointing my teammate’s position out but I find them a bit uninformative and I want to swat them away like mosquitoes.
So in infinite ranked, would you prefer?
H5 version - only shows enemy when sprinting or using equipment
Infinite - no radar at all, as is now
Hybrid - no enemy, only teammates
It’d be good to get feedback on WHY if you can.
I’m thinking the one annoyance example I gave may be less of a problem for mnk because can spin around and take a quick look?
