POLL: OK Lets see who wants the BR in a BTB as a Starting Weapon

I dont play btb much for the single reason there is not br starts. It honestly feels like im a sitting duck with how open the maps are, and i dont like it one bit

Dude, why the people want BR for everything, finally we get an AR that kills and now want the BR? bruh

Probably because it’s easy to use and the only one they can get kills with.

it’s like you guys want the game to get worse. the entire sandbox revolves around AR and sidekick start.
The BR is a borderline power weapon

Well, isn’t it tradition to have big team battle with BRs?

That’s pretty much the only reason I want it. I like AR, don’t get me wrong. Just feel as though BTB ain’t the same without AR/BR starts.

Maybe we can get a BTB Classic playlist going or something.

Commando544 said this once. I don’t know why. You do realize that for that to be borderline it has to do something, well, borderline.

It kills no faster than it did in H3. You know what kills faster than a BR? A shock rifle, a stalker rifle, an AR, a sidekick I could go on.

1.55s is quite the slow killtime.

I was probably searching for 3 and reach. I usually search those because they’re the Halos I like most. Still wish that reach was pre TU, but it’s better than nothing I guess.

Because the BR is imo just too powerful of a starting weapon. It makes a lot of the weapon pickups on the map redundant. AR starts is far more fun as you see more weapon variety.

That variety isn’t fun since it rewards less skilled players. And from my experience in BR starts everything is still greatly used, as there’s many moments where the BR will be beaten.

I’d argue that giving new players easier weapons to use and do well with instead of having them learn how to function without the Battle Rifle is rewarding less skilled players more honestly.

Its not an obsession
I just believe it to be the best kind of starts for more than a few reasons that I can elabrate on if you want

Edit: sorry Deybwan this was supposed to be a reply to @General_Fox

By doing that your artificially increasing the barrier to entry. Making it so that you have to learn precision immediately makes it less accessable to new players. That’s not healthy for the game. You’re basically only rewarding those who have played the game already or have played past titles and punishing new players.

When people can’t enjoy the game they’ll drop it very quickly and if they see a barrier to entry that will require quite a bit of work/time then they will be turned off from starting it entirely. This happens with CoD every title because people who want to pick the game up a month or two after release will be immediately met by players who are far along the weapon progression that have a clear advantage because they have access to better weapons. I experienced this very badly when I got Modern Warfare 2. I think it was 2 months after release and every starting gun for me was terrible. It took a lot of constant loosing to make any progress and I didn’t enjoy my time playing it. I would’ve stopped if my friends weren’t playing. It was the only reason I kept going. And as we can clearly see, right now Infinite isn’t very social friendly. Between the restrictions on matchmaking, lack of lobbies and everyone having different challenges nobody really wants to play together. At least not for very long because they have to go into different playlists to complete challenges and progress.

Don’t worry too much about that Bud :slightly_smiling_face:.

In my BTB Custom Games as soon as we get Forge “ALL THE WEAPONS” in the game will be at your base. As far as starting weapons goes I am thinking to using the Following Weapons:

#1 AR w/ 130 rounds
#2 Rocket Launcher w/6 rounds ( 3 Clips ) or the Hydra w/18 rounds ( 3 Clips )

Note: The Starting Weapons I have used is AR and the Rocket Launcher is how I have always setup my Halo Combat Evolved, Halo2a, Halo 3, Halo 4 and Reach Maps. When You die you will respawn at your base where all your weapons will be. Weapons Will Resapwn every 90 Seconds.

Have not decided yet in the #2 weapon yet. ( I really like the Hydra )

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Here’s the crux of the problem though…most if not all “new” players don’t care because they don’t know any better or don’t think enough about it for it to register. They just run around doing whatever with whatever they happen to have. They go negative 20 every AR starts match regardless.

But everyone I know that has been in my btb friend group deleted the game because it’s still AR starts.

AR STARTS IS A BARRIER and a major reason the game lost droves of players over time

Imagine spawning with weapons that aren’t meant for big maps like BTB. Sure you vehicle lovers are probably happy since you’re virtually unkillable, but the underlying problems are still there. Every BTB halo has done just fine with precision weapon starts, warthog has never been good so get off your high horse people. Too many of you play battlefield and expect vehicles to be invincible.

Very solid point. A couple shots from a BR can stop a player in their tracks.

the kill time is not the issue, it is the placement in the weapons sandbox.
In halo infinite, the BR is extremely powerful. Do you not understand how game design works?
the BR in H3 is not even close to what H I BR is.
they 're placement is different.
one was meant to be a starter weapon and so other weapons work in extension.
the other as the AR/ sidekick at the center.
do you get it?

I did not misinterpret what you said. Your statement that it’s a borderline power weapon is false.

What power is it displaying? The ability to kill someone in 4 bursts at mid to long range? That’s what the H3 BR did. Infinite’s just doesn’t have projectile physics.

The Halo 3 BR and Halo Infinite BR have the same time to kill. The difference is all the Infinite weapons kill way faster than the weapons in Halo 3. So the BR is weaker

… are you trolling? this has to be a troll. Halo 3 BR is the worst in the series. everyone knows this. in no way is the Infinite’s BR weaker.
you’re compltely delusional if you think that is the case

The Infinite BR and the Halo 3 BR are the same BR, the projectiles just perform differently. Infinite has less randomness because instead of a cone of randomness it’s a predictable vertical recoil pattern. It’s still a 1.55 second kill time. When you compare how it performs to how the rest of the sandbox performs, it will lose to every other weapon at specific ranges and in specific scenarios.

The reason the BR matters is that it is highly versatile. It’s not the best at any one thing, its just a solid choice at most things.
