i love using the jetpack, but i don’t want to be forced into using it over other options. i like having the choice

Definitely the choice option. Some maps I like to use it, such as if I spawn on blue team on Sword Base. Other maps I have no use for it.

Yeah I love the jetpack, but for it to be an all the time feature would break map pacing more than sprint.

It depends on the map, the gametype, and the game. In Halo Reach’s matchmaking the jetpack is sometimes used to ping other players above the map while the attacker can just start going down when they get shot. It’s leveraged very well against players by pros and is a big pain.

What you need to think about is how will the jetpack affect the game balance. Don’t forget that there are tricks to double the height you can get with the jetpack by resetting it mid-flight. (There’s also a method to triple the height but it’s way harder to get right.)

It really depends on the game… If it’s some action sack game like dino blasters (I don’t like dino blasters for the record) then nothing wrong with default jet packs. How ever for regular matchmaking I think and wish jet packs could be a limited use map pick up like a bubble shield or whatever. I don’t like unlimited use equipment like stuff.

Well thanks guys for the input. What I have started to do in my maps is put 4 Jet Packs in each ( CTF ) map on each team. Thereby it will be up to the user to decide if they want to use a Jet Pack or not.

Peace :fist_right: :fist_left:

No player with even a modicum of skill or self-respect would ever select the jetpack handicap or any of the others like armor lock. Reach would be much more enjoyable without any of them.

I use the jetpack every now and then in Reach, I rather enjoy it, but my go to is sprint or evade.
