Dont get me wrong, I like to win but I just hate to see players who play the Obj hurt for doing so. I dont think someone not even trying to go after the Obj and just focusing on kills get more points than the guy who had a 1.30 ball held time.
I mean one example:
I go like 8-10 (More focused on Obj and less about K/D with sadly is the standard stat now) with the ball held time for 1.00 and hardly get any exp for it however the guy who never even attempts to go near the ball goes (Basically using the mode for a easier slayer match) 15-7 and gets a lot more points than me.
Oh, Candyman50S I tottaly see your point now, and though I haven’t played oddball yet, I agree with you.
Maybe every 10 seconds held, or something should give you bonus XP so that you are on par with persons guarding you all the time, thus it stays a team-effort.
Or maybe, when your team kills someone close to you (a threat), you get xp for holding the ball, and they get bonus for guarding the carrier.
That way teamwork and protecting the carrier is promoted I think!
I do agree with you for more objectives. I only played oddball once on halo4, and it seemed pointless honestly… I didn’t get much points just holding the ball and staying in the corner, when i could had been killing people and getting +10 for every kill (+headshots, multi kills, etc.)
Same with king of the hill.
