I like both, but have had far more memorable experiences with the hornet.

Jumping out of bases onto it or getting onto it mid-gravity cannon on Avalanche when carrying the flag was always fun.

I know what you mean, with the Hornet you could fight fine just by yourself, but now you have to hope your teammates aren’t idiots that forget where the trigger is.
