Never really used forge in previous games so no. Most I did was recreate a Quake map from scratch.

Many companies provide free development tools to help and to encourage people to develop for their platforms, Microsoft, Apple, Google, just to name a few. If 343 was to start charging for a development tool that users use for one thing, and only one thing, creating content for Halo Infinite, that would be a really absurd thing to do

Let me tell you why they WON’T Monetize forge.

They have already said they will be relying largely on player made content to drive infinite forward while they work on story for MP and campaign.

It will be OUR job to design have modes, maps, environments and playlists.

Look at the leaks that are all but confirmed; the advanced level of scripting pretty much confirms it. We’ve seen what modders can do will very basic scripts in custom games on MCC console.

Monetizing any source of forge wouldn’t just be stupid, it would be franchise suicide.

Do things in forge cost extra or are you thinking forge will be a third separate game and cost money? Ive been away for a while… (ignorant)

Careful, they might prove you wrong.

Forge isn’t going to be monetized, because if it was monetized; the player count would easily drop to less than 9,000 online daily as the players who actually want to play Halo would abandon this game as they would view it as a failure.

I’ve recently gone back to Halo 5. Sure the technical issues can be irksome, but the main gameplay is fun, and with the weapon variants, you can make entirely new game types, especially utilizing the weapon pad glitch.

EDIT: I also play MCC but with the threat of MTX season points in MCC, I’m sticking to Halo 5 until I see 343 has gotten the message nobody in the community will support MCC MTX.

Please, everything about Infinite is monetized EXPECT Forge to be HEAVILY monetized. It’s clear from the lack of meaningful changes 343 no longer cares for the communities opinion, let them sink.

So then shouldn’t 343 be paying us? That’s how jobs work right?

You only pay for Cosmetics, The Battle Pass, and the Campaign.
The multiplayer, aside from Cosmetics and the Premium Pass, is entirely free.
New maps are added in without need of a DLC.

Forge is not going to be monetized.

What r we expecting if the multiplayer is free?
But why not if its fun

You would think. Players have driven the community since h5s social rotations kicked in. And it’s been working for years

I don’t like the phrasing of the affirmative. It’s not that I wouldn’t have a problem paying for forge, it’s that ultimately I would decide to pay for it.

At the end of the day I don’t think forge will be a premium feature. I just don’t see that making business sense the way other decisions or shortcomings have.

If I had an option, my 60-80 bucks purchase should already come with Campaign, Forge, Firefight, Multiplayer and a decent amount of Multiplayer customization options. If they wanna sell DLC packs after that, it’s fine.

No way I would ever pay for Forge! Halo Infinite is a massive scam at $60. I wouldn’t even pay $30 for it either.

Well the statistic is about only 5% would… which ironically, is about the percentage of the population they were able to keep.

343 has shown with Infinite that they were willing to sacrifice 95% of their population for microtransactions and bad decisions. I don’t see why this poll would discourage them.

I can answer this question: The biggest strength of Forge would be mass community adoption. Charging for dev tools that would allow the community to create an infinite amount of content is shooting yourself in the foot.

Forge being paid for would also make no sense.

As it would be a gate-keeping method to block players from actually playing certain maps because they were forge maps, so as a result it would make matchmaking a lot more of a nightmare to work with.

Easiest way to ensure that players come back and actually make money from it is to make Forge free.
Forge being free would add more map variety and bring back players.
More players equals more people likely spending money in the cosmetic shop.

Making forge monetized would result in less profits as it would push more players away and thus make less money-per-week in the long run.
HOPEFULLY whoever at 343 that is in charge of sales and marketing has a degree in basic economic theory.
