Even if the vote stays at 90% not wanting to pay for forge, 343 will just claim that the feedback is mixed like they did with player collision.

i paid 60$ for a each halo game and got, 1) multiplayer (complete (H1-R), needed work H4 and 5)
2) a campaign
3) a fully flushed customization system
4) Forge at launch (except for 5)
5) working custom games and theater
…
i paid 60$ for Halo infinite and got

  1. a campaign…
    …
i wish there was more… no i will not pay for any extra features that would otherwise have been included… free multiplayer is fine… paid armor is scummy but i can ignore it… restricted features for people who actually paid the 60$… i will turn my back on this franchise and not look back… and it sucks because this is MY FAVORITE franchise… and I’m watching it suffocate and can do nothing.

Nope, and if it turns out that that is what will happen I’ll uninstall infinite.

I get a business making money and there is nothing wrong with that, but there has to be a limit to that and so far 343 has shown they don’t have any limits on what they will do.

I would think that forge being part of mp, if they tried to charge for it then it’s not f2p, they would literally be shooting themselves in the foot (oh, forgot you can’t see your feet in Infinite lol :joy: )

Best option for 343 is to have forge available for everybody, not just those who would pay anything. But no real solid info on forge apart from leaks so will wait and see, it’s looking good though

A truly revolutionary free Forge is the only thing that can save the game at this point. They need people to have the ability to freely and easily create new content to compete with all the other GaaS out there.

If they make Forge paid then it’ll never take off as much as it would if it was free. I think that’d be another nail in the coffin of 343’s reputation.

I’d never pay for Forge. It’s been a standard part of a Halo game since 2007.

Seeing as I paid for the base game …which is the normal price for a fully priced game I’d say no. It’s bad enough the multiplayer was stripped from the game for a aggressive store.

They’re already overcharging for the game with the inclusion of the store.

$60 campaign and $10 battlepasses should be the only things being paid for.

I’ll pay for forge and I know all the rest of u will too because we want to see black hole and white hole teleporters with gravitational lensing light bending mind blowing visual fx

if u don’t want all the extra sweet fx and ai features and to pay for server time to run the calculations required then u can settle for the free version of forge

Any monetization of forge would be the dumbest possible thing they could do.

absolutely not.

as i am not getting any younger, and my expectations seem to grow ever more, i appreciate the time and effort that goes in to a thing of beauty such as forge

Okay, well I hope you understand that paying for forge is a scam.

We’ve never had to pay for forge. Ever.

There’s no possible reason to justify that.

I want you to very specifically elaborate on what kind of “calculations” you’re talking about.

if you would be so kind as to meet me in halo 5 forge lobby i will show you a few map scenarios i have produced and have had a challenge implementing scripted objectives with. i will start the lobby now

We’re not talking about Halo 5, we’re talking about Halo Infinite. If you’ve got all this vast scripting experience, it should be trivial for you to tell me about what server “calculations” you’re talking about in relation to forge in Halo Infinite. Come on now, chop chop.

alright

Tidal Disruption Events

Tidal disruption event

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A tidal disruption event (TDE) is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when a star approaches sufficiently close to a supermassive black hole (SMBH) and is pulled apart by the black hole’s tidal force, experiencing spaghettification.[1][2] A portion of the star’s mass can be captured into an accretion disk around the black hole, resulting in a temporary flare of electromagnetic radiation as matter in the disk is consumed by the black hole.
A tidal disruption event (TDE) is an [astronomical phenomenon]

we want to see spaghettification when players and objects jump through a teleporter that looks like a black hole and reverse spaghettification when players and objects come out the reciever end of the teleporter

i am not an expert in this field but i imagine this sort of real time visual fx requires tremendous and repetitive ray tracing operations in rapid succession

see the picture of a black hole simulation where the light from behind it gets bent around to the front of it from the perspective of the viewer

i cant post links or pictures but u have probably seen the new picture of what a black hole should look like

None of this would be handled server side. This would all be client.
