Poll: Are you looking forward to Halo BR?

If they are budgeting in to create a Battle Royale is this community even interested? I like Halo’s Arcadeness (the AR is the AR not 10 different versions), its lost Firefight mode, co-op campaign, Invasion. I’ve played BR’s and I’m sorry, I’m just not into them.

Are you a Battle Royale player?

  • Battle Royale. Yes, please.
  • Battle Royale, I’ll play it if challenges force me to.
  • Indifferent.
  • No, please stop wasting time. Just bring back Invasion with Infinites mechanics. Plus more equipment.
  • Just co-op games for me. Firefight, Spartan Ops, Campaign.

I dislike the Battle Royale genre & even if it’s with a franchise I’ve kept with like Halo I still couldn’t care less for it

It’s obviously being done to bring in a new audience to Halo which is whatever but I’d much rather have development time spent on PvE experiences such as Firefight or perhaps a new take on Spartan Ops.

I’m still not sold on the concept.

But I do admit I found LSS more fun than I was expecting.

And from what we know about the new mode, albeit unsubstantiated leaks, sounds like a game with deep seated Halo roots.

I’m willing to give it a chance. Mainly it all depends on just how much this Halo BR will separate itself from the other BRs that have done it much longer and refined/improved upon it since then. I don’t want a BR with the Halo skin - I want Halo-like mechanics and fun with a BR adapting to it.

I’m still far from sold on it and unless it does manage to impress me when it releases or we at least see more about it I’m currently still in the mindset of wishing they spent more of the time and resources on improving what Infinite has clearly been lacking in the actual Halo department of content.

I’ll play it because I’m intrigued and I do enjoy Battle Royale games. However Last Spartan Stading, albeit a BR-Lite mode, didn’t feel good at all. There’s an audience for it so it makes sense to release one. I hate Tactical Slayer but I’m not going to knock others for wanting it.

It looks like there will be escalation in the sandbox similar to Warzone gun upgraded versions. I’m not a fan of this. Halo has a tier weapon system, thats the upgrades. Want to upgrade from the AR pick up the SAW (if they bring it back), or pop off a turret. Sidekick not getting the range you need pick up a BR or Sniper. This, to me, is escalation. I don’t like upgraded versions of weapons because with a stable sandbox you can counterplay by knowing each weapons strengths and weaknesses. Once upgraded versions come into play you might think your opponent has an AR and then find out its heat seeking with explosive rounds.

Gets LSS and are still parading for an actual massive deathmatch mode? unreal

I’ve sworn to never touch a Battle Royale mode so when they add it I’ll probably just play something else while waiting for more actual Arena and Forge updates.

The Battle Royale genre for me just seems a bit oversaturated in today’s market. It’s not that I dislike the concept, rather BR’s are so abundant I would prefer resources to be allocated to a more unique game mode.

Yet, we’ve seen that un-original ideas worked for the Halo Franchise, Firefight for example, was not an original idea, being based off horde game modes. Yet an overwhelming amount of the community enjoyed Firefight and wanted the mode in future installments.

But after seeing 343’s first creative take on the BR concept with Last Spartan Standing, I don’t know if I’m quite sold on the idea. I still wish 343 the best of luck if they are deciding to create a battle Royale.

I think a battle royale would be good for Halo just like forge, coop and firefight for example. The only thing is, 343 just cant do it. I had some hope for Infinite which is a miracle because Halo 4 and 5 were massive let downs but I thought Infinite could make a difference. After the launch reality kicked in and this game is just another example of this studio struggling to release a Halo game, they just cant do it, the games look like Halo clones who are fun to play but its not even half as good as Halo 3 for example. Halo MCC what is literally a collection of already existing games are a massive mess compared to the original ones and I understand its not the easiest job to bring them to next gen and pc but come on, these games already existed its not like they needed to make all these games from scratch and they didn’t have enough time to fix things. So anyways I don’t think Halo BR will be coming and if it did, it will be a miracle if they can let 100 players connect to the game but sadly 8 players in a slayer game is already hard enough for 343…

I think this is the best balance. 343 can continue working on Arena and refine that (also, keep challenges specific to arena when it says PvP), and the company working on the BR (forgot their name) can work on the BR.

I don’t care about the Tatanka mode. I’ll give it a try when it launches and I’m sure it’ll have some fun elements, but I’m not looking for a BR style experience.

I’d really love to hear confirmation that there’s some kind of PvE Firefight-ish mode (more like Reach Firefight, less like H5 Warzone Firefight, please) planned or in development. I’ve played more PvP in Infinite than I have in any Halo game since H3, because there just isn’t anything else to really do (even replaying the campaign isn’t incentivized by any challenges and is a bit of a pain with no Mission Select). PvE Halo fans haven’t recieved very much love with this game, yet.

It’s a shame, the Banished AI is fun to fight and the weapons and equipment sandbox would lend itself to a phenomenal arcade Firefight experience.

Please read the post. There’s ZERO parading going on here.

Halo has the perfect physics and combat sandbox for incredible outplays to occur!

If you can wrap efficient and interesting looting mechanics around that, and stuff to do on the map, I think a Halo universe BR would be awesome.

I’m indifferent, it’s not going to save Halo and it’s not going to kill Halo. 343 is all about chasing trends and making money and no amount of feedback from players has changed their minds over the last decade. Specifically with the BR mode, they are trying to attract specific players who throw ANY amount of money at irrelevant digital accessories (that use to be free unlocks in previous Halos but now have to be purchased in Infinite), and they sell these same cosmetics, sometimes only slightly altered in small bundles that are even more expensive than a six month Battle Pass. Even though that Battle Pass has several “Legendary” and “Epic” items too, somehow two or three specific “Legendary/Epic” items in a bundle supersedes an entire Battle Pass with unlocks that are more rare.

No. I enjoyed LSS as a mini BR, but there is so many more important things that they could be working on instead of chasing trends

Personally I enjoy playing custom games, firefight, infection and all the other classic Halo stuff.
But I think battle royale for Infinite would make it more fun as well.
