Pointstreaks and livestreams

So news was just released sayng that Black Ops 2 will switch from killstreaks to pointstreaks and you will be able to livestream all your matches if you want to, from both consoles and PC.

The livestream thing is really, really cool. I have wanted something like this for Halo for a long time, being away from your xbox not being able to play you could always join a friends livestream and see how he is doing.

The problem some people have told me is if you can join a livestream and choose wich player you will follow can’t that be exploited? My friend is playing a game, I will choose to join a person from the other team and then tell my buddy what they are doing in real time. It seems that you will be able to watch any game you want, not just your friends matches. Maybe some of you guys has some insight on how it might work and if it would be possible in Halo?

oh and you can read about these things over att Kotaku.com

I’m not going to get involved in all this. CoD can do whatever they want for all I care.

Agree, this is not a who is best Halo or COD thread. Ths is mostly about the livestream part, what do people think about it and would it work in Halo.

“These improvements are great news for e-sports fans, but they come with some limitations. The CODcasting (ugh) feature only works for custom games and local play live; league play and public match games can only be casted with the new tools by doing so over a theater replay. Live streaming will be limited by Activision’s own network capacity and meeting an unspecified minimum number of viewers. In fact, live streaming is unlikely to make it for launch though it looks like the casting tools are in for sure. Additionally, live streaming only works for league play. Neither feature looks to be coming to the co-op Strikeforce mode or single-player in any fashion.”

Who cares? Im content with halo

Livestreaming is only available in custom/private games.
So it will be super, super useful for tournaments and such, but that is it.
The youtube community is still going to be huge.

Spectator mode is definitely a necessary for Halo 4, live streaming, meh.

Anyways, Halo still looks WAY more fun than COD 9.
