Points to Win instead of Kills

I’ve been thinking about the points to win in Halo Infinity instead of kills.

Sure it’s a departure from previous Halo, but I believe it will encourage teamwork.

Now if you get an assist? That counts towards winning. If you’re a lone wolf? Well it’s going to be more difficult to win.

I really like this new team orientation Halo 4 seems to be about.

What difference would it make if you got an assist? What matters is the kill, not how you got it. You shouldn’t get more points for a kill because two people were shooting the enemy instead of one.

i disagree, if I am good enough to out kill a team of 4 and they win cuz they get assist points, then thats not right

So, the exp system from Halo 3?

So wait is it confirmed that it is points and not just kills? Because if so…i wonder where they got that idea from…

Exactly.

If it’s a team slayer game, why would their be a need for assists to count towards raising the score if a teammate gets the kill anyway?

If it’s a TEAM slayer game, then you should be rewarded as a TEAM. If you wanna be a lone wolf, go play FFA…

Why is it so hard for people to get the TEAM aspect of Halo??

I’m pretty sure it this gametype will have its own playlists.

If you’re able to do that, they shouldn’t have a chance at winning in the first place.

I’m not discouraged about the new change in team slayer. However I would like to see both gametypes exists. Not afraid of change but I am quite partial to the classic slayer playlist.

Of course it’s a team game, but it doesn’t take an idiot to figure out people will just shoot out an enemy’s shields then point him out to a teamate to get an assist and double the teams score, when it would have been faster just to finish him off himself.

I was skeptical when I first saw this info but i do believe it could inspire more teamwork. In fact being a lone wolf in this gametype would hinder you. Again I would like to see both gametypes. But this gametype could definitly teach teams how to team shot.

I wouldn’t really jump to conclusions. If assists contributed to the points, then I’m sure they wouldn’t make their value worth even close to a kill. Say the score to win is 250 points, the kill could be worth 10 or something, and the assist could be as low as 1/4 or 1/5 the score of a kill, like 2 points to that 10. Or 5 points to the 20-point kill.

Could work, could maybe not work. If the medals are valued appropriately, I don’t think it’ll be as big a deal as some people think it is. Assists counting towards the score would encourage more team shooting and less lone wolfing.

If you look at the making of halo 4 trailer, during the small bit where you see a spartan shooting a red spartin with the BR in FP, you see two medals pop up on screen when he kills him. 5 and 5 beside each medal- then 10 gets added to his team score. I wonder how long people can go on saying this game isn’t ripping from COD. However I have seen other snippets of gameplay in the released vids where the score was much lower so maybe this is only certain gametypes. (I hope).

How about this?

An assist is worth more than a kill. This gives players an award and incentive to team shoot.

…That wouldn’t be exploited at all…

I don’t really agree with that. I think the kills are what should really matter but ina closer game the assists could actually make the difference giving the higher score to the team that was working together more. I also hope assists are easier in H4 than they were in reach. So if done right this could inspire a lot of team work.

I think thats a cool idea butit would be hard for 4000000 people who have played halo to adjust to that, creating another halo reach

i think/hope so

Ummm no i like the kills better
