Imagine being able to play without worry of losing CSR on losses. Well, that’s exactly what everyone who had a higher hidden MMR gets to do. Why reset ranks when people can just play and get back to their original rank with ease?

I quit, every single ranked game this time around for my 10 qualifiers.
I was banned 3 times over the past 3 days.
So 10 quits. no K/D, No games won/ lost.
After the 10th game of doing this.
They put me in Platinum 5…
The whole game is broken.
Clearly this rank reset was to temporarily get the population up again. That’s the only reason I see it exists.
Yup. They didn’t touch MMR. Just a soft CSR reset that does NOTHING to address the actual problems with the system as a whole. And the implementation of trueskill 2 for a whole-game MMR is the problem.
I’ll probably keep playing this game with friends, but this was the last straw for me being motivated to play at all solo. 343 have mismanaged a game with tons of potential into the ground.
But I’m sure they’re all too busy watching the news to actually do their jobs, so it’s all OK.
Haven’t played enough to comment, but I placed Plat 6 in crossplay with only 3 wins. I was D5 before. In the solo MNK I placed Plat 4 with 5 wins. I was D4 before. So winning matters less? Also in my first match in solo MNK I faced the top 1 and 5th best player in the entire playlist. I’ve never done poorer. Their accuracy was higher than any controller player I’ve faced.
Right now I’m not losing much csr from losses but I gain a lot from wins. I have to play more to see if I can go back to D5 and if I can push higher.
I’ve been studying this reset and I can almost guarantee you that they messed something and the changes they wanted only applied to Solo/Duo queue and not for Crossplay queue…
The MM is exactly the same on Crossolay, on Solo/Duo (at least Controller) the changes they talked about went live and everyone deranged pretty hard.
Honestly, the rank reset occurred when the first season was supposed to end. I’m willing to bet this “mid season reset” was merely a cover up for the fact that they didn’t know how to stop it from automatically resetting on the regular season interval.
