Point to leveling up in Halo 5?

Can someone please tell me the reason for leveling up in Halo 5? It makes no sense. I don’t get better REQ packs as I go up in rank, don’t get better armor, people have to do extra work to see what lvl I am because it’s not like I can check before the game starts by scrolling through names like past Halo games. In Halo Reach leveling up was cool. I could show off my dedication to the game and had a bad -Yoink- rank to go next to my name and got some crazy armor. In Guardians it just doesn’t make any sense to me since everything is won out of REQ packs which is also kind of irritating. Why am I a LVL 60 and some scrub LVL 5 has better armor than me because they got lucky with a REQ pack? All my hard work and he has better armor than I do. I like the REQ system, but it is unfair in that aspect. They could fix this by maybe giving out gold packs after you get past LVL75 and silvers past LVL 25? But still seriously it jus doesn’t seem to be a point in why we LVL up at all.

leveling gives you reqs. beyond that it’s doing nothing, but getting more reqs faster is better if you play Warzone

Leveling up doesn’t mean anything anymore. It’s pointless now.

In halo 5, all it does is get you in higher spartan companies, as a lot require a high rank

… Dude the higher the rank, the better the contents, get to level and earn a nice emblem. Seriously, at the higher you get the better he pack eventually. Once you get high level you get packs that are like gold packs.

Rank shows how much time you have put into the game.

So you’re saying there was a time when leveling up meant something in Halo ? Lol, i thought it was always about Skill.

What?

XP means nothing as it should… you get it regardless. The only rank that matters is your CSR.

You’re level up packs improve at certain milestones. Other than that there is no point. Emblem. SR level and everything are hidden in matchmaking until post game.

In Halo 5, it’s just about getting better reqs from the RNG known as reqs, nothing more. The more you spend in game and more you grind, the chances become higher for stuff that’s beyond your control. At least Halo 4 had a system where you could go through the different playstyles and earn armor or perks through them, and Reach had a simple credit and commendation system that worked the best IMO.

Tl;dr, higher rank = more req points = more money to spend on RNG stuffs.

Rank, status, CSR… I think it’s just a status symbol. You know, so you can have bragging rights… or something. I don’t know. I’ve never understood the allure. All the people I play (for the most part) are interchangeable random gamertags and emblems. I don’t know who they are, and I’ll never see them again. What do I care about my rank? Or theirs?
But others do care, I suppose.
