Point distribution.

Before anyone says anything, I know a lot of you believe that credits are meaningless and so on, but I’m one of the few that like collecting them. So please keep hate to a minimum.

anyway. I was wondering if anybody knew how evenly the points will be distributed between gametypes.
For example, in reach, at my current level, I get around 1,500 per game of SWAT, but 3,000 per game of big team battle, and 4,000 per game of Grifball.
That sucks, because I love to play SWAT, but feel like I have to rely on custom challenges and daily challenges to even come close to getting any decent reward from playing it.

So yeah, how evenly do you think the point will be distributed throughout the gametypes and will it feel like no matter what you prefer to play, be it slayer, objective, swat or snipers, you won’t feel like you could be earning much more points for playing a gametype you don’t like.

If you are talking about Spartan Points, I heard somewhere that you get Spartan Points once you rank up.

To rank up, you gain experience. How much experience you gain depends on various factors. Firstly, it depends on winning the game. You get a lot more Exp. if you win. Then, it depends how much you contributed to your team’s victory, or to the team only in case you lost. That means how many kills, assists, distractions, style kills (assassinations, headshots, pummeling, etc.) and other stuff you got.

That means the better you are performing in a match, the more exp. you will gain.

That sounds great.
And the best thing about your entire post? Not a single mention of any Slot machine.
High five

I’ve just re-watched the “UNSC Infinity ship” video. There’s this part where the guy says “everything you do counts” (or something like that).
And there’s a red Spartan IV being customized, along with his loadout, he unlocks the BR 'cause he ranked up.
On the display, you can see you get 1,000 points for completing a game, and 5,000 points for winning it, then you add your “objective points” (don’t know what that is) and your “performing points” (this amount of points depends on how many medals you earned in the match, like headshots, EMP kills, assassinations, assists…).
You can go to the Videos>Trailers section in H4 page, and click the 2nd one (“Take part in War Games and Spartan Ops during your Spartan career aboard the UNSC Infinity”)

As much hate as I know I’m going to get hate for saying this, I’ll say it anyway.

I much prefer CoD’s method of gaining EXP over Reach’s. In Reach you got EXP based on how long the game was, and very little EXP based on your performance in the game. That’s where the AFK issue came in for Reach.

Hopefully Halo 4 takes that EXP system over Reach.

I agree with you entirely. No matter what you played in CoD, you got a good amount of points regardless of gametype you were playing. They were all very balanced so even gametypes like Search and Destroy (One life per player) gave 10x points per action, making 5 kills in that gametype as valuable as 50 in regular deathmatch gametypes.

I really hope H4 has something more like that. Not that exactly, but you know, a good balance for the exp points that get distributed.

And about the Objective Points, I presume that would mean exp for going after the objective.
If it worked the way I’d hope, that would mean if you’re in a CTF game, you get extra points for concentrating on the flag and flag carriers.
As apposed to reaches way of doing it where even if you capture all 3 flags, and defend your own flag/base, if you don’t get many kills you would be punished with very little credits.
