Poem- the Decks of the Infinity

Before you judge it too much, I was on a car trip and wrote it in four hours. So if there is anything I could do to make it better, let me know.

“The Decks of the Infinity”

The fair lady’s rampant, the thought plagued us all,
The blood of my brothers is lining the hall.
Yet here I still stand with my ma5d,
Here on the deck of the Infinity

And I am still scarred by the horrible sight, of
The men slaughtered by a promethean knight.
For two days it raged, and by the third sun,
The bloodshed was over, the fighting was done.
But sergeant O’Leary, and corporal Dawn,
My brothers, my sisters, oh god, they’re all gone.
A shot to the eyes, but I can still clearly see,
Here on the deck of the Infinity.

The Spartans lay down, their short lives have ended,
Their battle rifles empty, and all rounds expended.
They served as the soldiers, we need them to be.
Here on the deck of the Infinity.

My armor is dented, my blood’s running out,
With my final breath, I’ll muster a shout.
Oh John one one seven, before you arrive,
I hope that you know, that there’s no one alive.
My time has run short, and I let out a sigh,
And try to feel better, as I lay down to die.
But I’m still filled with sadness, I’ll never unsee,
The Spartan Fours slaughtered, on the Infinity.
