PLZ TAKE AWAY 5v5!

Halo has never had more than 8 players unless playing big team battle so why do we have 5v5 in this game?! Please make it can only be 3v3 or 4v4. 343 YOU ARE KILLING US! Please make the game how it should be!

yeah i was confused to why it was 5v5 but for now i think its because of 343 removed a lot of playlists.

They did it so more people could find games, it will go back to normal when the game is fixed.

How does this allow more people to find games? I am not understanding the logic. Are the servers not keeping up with the amount of games being played? Is the search algorithm that screwed up, where everything breaks when it is 4v4? I know this is you simply restating what 343 has said, but someone explain this logic to me.

The logic is simple, the more open spots in a playlist, the more people that can fit into a game. This way 2 people who are having trouble finding a game can get into the 5v5, and not wait for 4 more minutes for another 4v4 to open up. It’s a way to try and counteract their poor MM connectivity.

I’m less worried about the 5v5’s than I am about the 3v6 I played on Lockdown yesterday. 5v5’s on tiny maps are one thing, but at least don’t let matches start without even teams… that was the most ridiculous game I’ve been a part of.

It is a good point, some maps, like Zenith, are really not made to play 5v5, let alone a nightmare 6v3.

Yeah I just want to play classic 4v4 swat, I can play that all day every day.

That does not make sense when the user pool is in the thousands. The only way this is beneficial is if you have an excess of seven people. Since the game is supposed to use dedicated servers, creating another open port on the servers should not affect the connection, either way you have to get back to the same server to start the game.

Now if you are saying these games are not on dedicated servers and only a select few (in relative to the thousands) are able to host a match I can see that making a little more sense.

It’s not permanent.
